I've had a lot of Texas BBQ, but Alzer's in Cedar Park is a whole different level. Not only is the food amazing, but it's a huge relief to know everything on the menu is halal. We got the brisket sandwiches, ribs, and regular sausage, and it was all so delicious. Honestly, the mac and cheese and cream corn were just as good as the meat—they're definitely not an afterthought. The service was super fast, and the guys working there were incredibly friendly. But the thing that really stood out was their genuine kindness. The owners saw us and actually offered us prayer rugs to use on their patio. That’s the kind of hospitality you just don't forget. Great food, great people, and a great experience all around. We'll be back for sure.
I had an amazing experience at Alzer's Barbeque! The BBQ was excellent—you can tell they really know what they're doing with the smoker. The brisket had a great smoke ring and was very tender. The side items were just as delicious; the corn was a particular highlight. Top-tier service as well. Definitely a 4-star experience that I'd recommend to anyone looking for authentic BBQ!
Wow. I am Texan born and raised, love bbq from the nostalgic days of tailgating. This is an insanely talented crew. This barbeque takes me back to tailgating as a young kid. It’s BYOB and they have quail! We couldn’t decide which side we liked most and we got them all! Anthony, Omar, Sterling, Sammer. Wow. Thank you for representing the best bbq !
Nothing great BBQ wise unfortunately to report here. Brisket is a bit overcooked and the coleslaw was super dry. The potato salad was solid and desserts looked good. Nice guys working there but I have no reason to return.
I had heard of Alzer's some time ago, but until today, I did not have a reason to be in that area. When I heard about their lamb, I had never heard of smoked/barbequed lamb, so I had to try it. If you like lamb, run to Alzer's, do not walk! Their pitmaster is an absolute genius!!. The rack of lamb is one of the juiciest, most tender, flavorful foods I have ever put in my mouth! If you are not a fan of lamb, I am sure the same genius goes into the preparation of all of their meats. I now have a good reason to be in this area on a regular basis. I highly recommend Alzer's Barbeque!
One of the few halal Texan BBQ spots in the area. We did takeout, so not sure about the service. Did the medium family order: 4 pounds of meat, 3 large sides. We tried brisket, beef ribs, and beef sausage. Sides were potato salad, creamed corn, and mac and cheese. Came with complimentary bread, pickles, and onions. The price was a hefty $140, but between 6 people, it came to about $23 per person, so I think that's pretty fair for Texan BBQ. Of the 3 meats, beef sausage was my fav, it had jalapenos in it and had quite the kick! The beef ribs, while not winning any awards, were good as well. My only criticism is that it amounted to 3 beef ribs, so we had to split each rib between 2 people. The brisket was supposed to be a mix of moist and lean with some burnt ends, but it leaned mostly lean. I would’ve liked more of the juicy cuts, and I didn’t see any real burnt ends. It was decent, but I’ve had better. For my fam who only eats halal meat and hasn’t had other Texan BBQ, they loved each and every piece of meat, so overall it was a great success. Everything was seasoned really well, and nothing was dried out. The sides were all really impressive. Everyone loved the creamed corn and potato salad. The mac and cheese here was better than at some other, more well known BBQ joints in the Austin area. I wish I’d read some of these reviews prior to ordering, I would have tried some of the lamb items that seem to have some fans. That’ll be for next time. Even if you’re not looking specifically for halal options, I think it holds its own among other BBQ joints in the greater Austin area in this tier.
The smoked turkey was the best we've had - it was fantastic! Brisket was great and the co-star was the hatch chili mac-and-cheese! Also, really nice people working there. FYI they do not serve alcohol, but there is a liquor store a couple doors down and they let you BYOB.
