Sugar Koi

Lovely spot. You have to try the ube flavor. If you’re ever in an Asian ice cream shop, go for the Asian flavors… you won’t regret it. We got ube and Thai tea scoops in a fish waffle, and it was so fun putting the ice cream right into the "mouth" of the waffle before taking a bite. The guy behind the counter suggested it, and he was super nice. I’m definitely going back soon.

Sakura matcha ice cream?! Fresh warm Taiyaki? Pillowy soft moshi?! Can’t beat it! Excellent tea and latte flavors. Raspberry chocolate flavor is good but so are many more!

What a great find!!!! Nat was absolutely the kindest person we ever met! Had us taste several flavors to find our favorites. He called mine like a pro just by asking what I like, the banana pudding was out of this world and dark chocolate raspberry was AHHHMAZZING and I am not usually a chocolate eater. My husband had the purple yam and brown sugar burbon the taste is just incredible. Thank you for an amazing experience we will be back… give it a try you won’t be disappointed ❤️ plus he had lactaid for sale for us people that shouldn’t eat ice cream but do love it!!!

This place is amazing! If I could rate it 10 stars I would! The owner is very nice and you can tell he loves what he does. We talked with him about some of the flavors he comes up with, which are amazingly delicious by the way. My family and I sampled the santol and we each ended it up getting that for one of our flavors. We most definitely will be going back. We drove 40 minutes away might I add, and it was well worth it! 😋

This is a shop in Cary NC that serves homemade ice cream with their famous fish cones(koiyaki) They also sell drinks! I love their jasmine tea flavor of ice cream and the ambiance is very nice with decorated walls and live greenery. You can also buy merch like bags and cute stuffies!

I've had a friend trying to get me to go to Sugar Koi for a few months. Why did I take so long to heed his wisdom? As a blended Southeast/East Asian, I have missed Pandan, Matcha, and Ube ice cream flavors and could barely resist buying a pint to take home. I do love banana pudding too so I'll have to come back and try that..

Hands down one of the best ice cream experiences I've ever had. The ice cream was great, of course, but the Koiyaki was incredible. It's basically a waffle-like cone that's soft and warm and serve on top of your ice cream. You scoop the ice cream into the cone (shaped like a fish, or "Koi") and eat it like an ice cream sandwich. I can't wait to come back.
