I had an early grey, cookies and cream soft serve. The tea taste was stronger than the cookies and cream part of the swirl but I've no complains. We took out 2 boxes of black sesame and matcha taiyaki and I had it the next day for breakfast. (Microwaved briefly from the fridge and then in my smart toaster for crisp) And it is STILL TASTY. The prices here are reasonable and you get free toppings on your ice cream - I didn't want any but there's a huge variety. There was one guy serving us AND making the food. On Monday 20 Oct after 7pm. Hats off to him. He was very friendly and helpful and suggested the soft serve to me 🙂 Pricing here is really reasonable for east side 🙂 Would visit again!

Tried Ube flavor for the first time. I had upside down style of soft serve, it was very SOMilicious. Staff was so patient, explained their menu items, even offered to change the flavor if we don’t like ube.

i loveeeee somisomi taiyaki. come here twice a week. my fav is the matcha custard as it has the right balance of sweetness. but it was out of stock on days when i came😭 the hotteok flavor is good as well, but way too sweet. btw how come the owner schedules only one employee on shift??? that's terrible tbh.

Somi Somi – Soft Serve & Taiyaki Food: I’ve been a fan of Somi Somi for a while, but lately the quality feels like it’s gone downhill. The ube soft serve used to be vibrant, rich, and distinctly purple in both flavor and color. Now, it tastes more like diluted vanilla with just a faint hint of ube and a very light purple hue—far from what it used to be. I was especially disappointed since the ube + matcha swirl was one of my favorites, but it’s no longer offered. On top of that, toppings like sprinkles have noticeably been reduced, which makes the treat feel less generous for the price. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is okay, but there are some drawbacks. There isn’t any indoor seating available, and there’s no AC, which makes it less comfortable to enjoy your ice cream on warmer days. Service: Service was fine, but nothing stood out. Given the price point, I feel the overall experience (service, comfort, and quality) should be a bit better. Overall Experience: While I still enjoy the idea of Somi Somi and their taiyaki soft serve concept, the dilution of flavors (especially ube) and reduction in toppings have been disappointing. Combined with the lack of seating and AC, it doesn’t feel worth the premium price anymore.

Somisomi was an interesting experience. The desserts are delicious. The taiyaki is good. The ice cream is soft and creamy and not too sweet. We really enjoyed the flavors! Unfortunately the shop itself is very odd, there's no AC and no indoor seating though it is relatively spacious. The service was mediocre. Overall I enjoyed the dessert so I'd come back for it.

Checked out Somisomi today! My boyfriend and I got a cup with a Dulce de leche and Horchata swirl with oreo crumbles as a topping. It was really good! The macaroon that it came with was quite dry and had no filling, but the ice cream itself was good. It melts very quickly so eat it fast! The employee that took our order was very enthusiastic and kind! No service complaints at all. Interior is very cute- looks like they just opened so they haven’t quite figured out the seating yet, but I saw a bunch of boxes in the back so I assume that they will be finishing up the interior soon. Excited to visit again when everything is fully set up!

Fun desserts with freshly made taiyaki and lots of customization options. I really liked coming here, especially as I was already parked and in the area. Otherwise it might have been a bit of a hassle. The service was quick enough, even though there was a big group behind us. The soft serve quality was great, and the taiyakis themself were well made and fresh. The mini taiyaki I will say were a bit doughy and could have a higher filling to pastry ratio. The service was very friendly!
