More Than Words Bookstore

I really love this nonprofit and their mission. However, they were not open at 10:20 AM on a random visit when their store hours are listed as opening at 10 AM. I would call before you visit, but do your best to check it out!

My experience and my time at more than words was inspiring magical and motivating. I was referred by my boarding school Pelham academy JRI my clinician Janae referred me and I was nervous and anxious about going there but after I open up my heart and became more open minded about working there I started to learn life lessons I learned as a kid I got to relearn them again like respect responsibility leadership motivation determination passionate independence public speaking and so much more. My mentors edi Zach Steven Sara Jessie Betsy will and our CEO AND FOUNDER OF MTW JODI Rosenblum really makes an impact on so many young adult and young people and these people believe in me as much as I believe in myself and my willingness to fight for my dreams and never let my dreams die. I am very honored and happy that more than words will always hold a special place in my heart I started there when I was 19 and left when I was 21 and it was the best decision I ever made! I’m very grateful blessed to always have a family that looks out for me and motivates me to do better. Thank you more than words thank you Janae thank you EDI and Zach! The book I wanted was cheapest listed on Amazon's "Other, used" section. It arrived in absolutely pristine, like-new condition. Very happy. Next time I need a book I will check the website and order direct if available.

When I contacted these folks for help resolving an issue with an online book order (which turned out to be 100% my error, not theirs), they promptly responded and refunded the order. I apologetically admitted my error and asked them to cancel the refund. Service 5-star, Responsiveness 5-star, Book quality 5-star!

Fantastic used bookstore that also serves the community's at-risk youth. The book collection there is carefully curated, which results in a great selection. If you're looking for suggestions, the staff is super helpful. I came in to find some books to stock my Little Free Library, and I had the pleasure of meeting the manager, Alisa. She personally helped my husband and I choose a ton of books for our neighbors to enjoy. Her specialty is children's books, though - she has a masters in children's literature. As she helped us stock up on books for younger readers, I pulled her aside and asked if she could specifically suggest some kids' books that featured empowered girls and minorities, she just smiled and said that she had already been doing so. Awesome.

The company has very good intentions of trying to help youth between the ages of 16 and 21 years old, who are in the system, homeless, or just need a job. I love how they are there teaching the youth about different parts of a job, the data and sales they bring in, and just the driffrent parts of a business and how it's run. I love how the books are all donated from people and how the business just runs off of donations people give. The café is a wonderful place, the food is tasty and the drinks are absolutely fabulous. I love the place.

Wonderful assortment of books and very nice staff! Today reading one of the books from there, I found tucked between the pages a receipt for a cafe in Paris! My book has traveled and I love the romance of this 💜 I cherish the days I drop off books to donate and bring home more than I dropped off!
