Desierto Books

Every time I visit Desierto Books, I come away with another treasure. From classic literature to vintage psychology books to a stunning selection of music- and art-themed coffee table books, this place is always a feast for the reader’s eyes. The most I’ve ever spent was $20, and that was for a book from the 70s that is no longer in publication AND was in perfect condition when I bought it. The location itself is so cozy and convenient, too, situated in the corner of MSA Annex, where you could easily buy a book, walk a few steps to buy coffee or tea, and sit under a palo verde tree to enjoy your finds. I always say take comments about "price" with a grain of salt: it’s worth supporting a local business that sells niche products, yet still keeps its prices equal with or lower than the multinational booksellers!

small store with an incredible selection of books. i have never left empty-handed. there's a lot of unique local history books along with oversized art and photography, very cool lit-fic too. cute decorations and friendly staff. all in all a perfect bookstore! también hay libros en español.

A gem of a bookstore. They have LPs and a mix of excellent-condition, curated books! It's a great selection of local & SW titles, art books, vintage and MUCH More (even children's books). Thankful I was there for a book reading from an amazing author. Can't wait to explore again during my next visit to Tucson. Thank you!

I wandered upon Desierto Books when checking out the MSA Annex. They are super clean and have a simple layout. Their vinyl selection and books are really well priced and have a wide selection. Books are primarily non-fiction, but there is a wide range for everyone with a small section for children’s books. The owners are extremely kind and cordial, offering to help but still allowing for browsing. They even offered to allow our dog inside the store!

Stopped in here several months ago--very interesting and thoughtful selection of books in a beautifully appointed store. I look forward to returning next time I'm in Tucson!

Drove past this place prior to opening and was so excited to check it out. There is a fabulous selection of non-fiction literature including geology, Arizona flora, Arizona territory politics and history and a wealth of indigenous history as well as gardening books. There seems to be some interesting fiction as well for adult and children readers. The owner was extremely cordial and kind. Love this place already.

Family spent 30+ minutes wandering through their books and toys. My 4 y/o and 8 y/o found books and toys to their delight. Owners were incredibly kind and helpful. They even pointed out some baby rabbits that we could see out their window! Really great, no pressure, buying experience!
