Ocean County College Bookstore

Zero issues, get your books before school starts otherwise you’ll be waiting in line forever.

Great students working in the store, and the guy from the book section are very helpful!

Always clean and courteous staff. Not a huge selection and many things come at a premium. Generally we choose to order from the bookstore online because of expanded selection but those items are just as much a premium and the only real advantage is getting to use financial aid for the purchases weeks before your refund check is written. Even the selection of Ocean County College merchandise is limited in store without many designs to choose from.

The bookstore is alright, the books are pretty overpriced. But you can get a bunch of school supplies form the store and I think that is what makes it decent. There is also candy and snacks, you cant go wrong with that. Also the cashiers are very nice and helpful, I have had a good experience everytime I have went.

The pictures online didn't represent the room I had. I expected a more updated, colorful, more "streamlined" look from the pictures. Maybe only part of the hotel was remodeled. My room was more 2000ish than 2017ish. Also, the air conditioning unit was freezing! I put the speed on low and it didn't make any difference. Plus the place smelled musty. I've stayed in lots worse, but I would have preferred to stay in better digs. But, the staff was Very nice!

Im pleased with the experience I've had in Ocean as a whole, and the bookstore has a nice offering of other products. However I am disappointed by the digital bureaucracy that is behind getting a rental. They themselves cannot just get the book for you, you have to sign into your own account and request the books from a computer first and then wait for them to get the request...even if you are physically in the store. Additionally because the books have to be rented out you can't just straight buy a new textbook from the store either. You have to rent and just choose to buy at the end...but that's not the same thing. You can do better OCC, you're doing great, just some things need a tweak imo.

This new venture Ocean County College has established with the Barnes and Noble company is not what it is cracked up to be. The service and management is not friendly nor are they helpful. This store sells tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy at rates that are above 80% higher than Best Buy or Amazon. A bookstore that is attached to a publically funded Community College should not be price gouging innocent students straight out of high school. The Ocean County College Bookstore is symbolic of everything that is wrong with higher education in America today: milk the students, give them things are remarkably marked up rates, and then send them off into a world where their skills are not applicable. This bookstore, in my humble opinion, would rate less than 1 star. Please, do not be suckered in by their flashy new website, go to any other alternative you can find. They know they can bilk kids out of financial aid or their parent's money. It would be a joke if it wasn't a prime example of Barnes and Noble's inept response to the 21st century market place.
