Buy The Book

I had a great first experience here a few days ago, and just finished zipping through a book I picked in only a few hours - I was hooked. I particularly appreciate that they feature banned books and keep an open and educational dialogue about their values, I will absolutely be back for this alone. They also feature local artists which is super important to me, and I loved picking up a kids bilingual construction book. Sweet cat and cashier, I'll definitely be back! my only critique is that I wish the book cubbies in the kids section were easier to navigate, they're a little hard to search through and so I spent less time looking in this section than I might have. Thanks again!

One of my new favorite indie bookstores in Houston; I will definitely try to stop by when I’m by the area again! This is a new and used bookstore with a great selection of popular choices and those I’ve never heard of before. The selection is diverse. And their used book prices are really good, too! I recommend visiting Third Gen Coffee next door for some delicious caffeine and heading over to roam the bookstore thereafter 😍

This is a quaint, friendly bookstore tucked away next to Third Gen coffee. They sale new & used books but I only buy used. With that in mind, their selection is limited but prices are reasonable. Definitely keep newer books in stock. Extremely clean store. Also great kid area/selection. You can buy some unique gifts here too. I was able to find a series (3 of the 5) books for an average of $9 a book. The young women working were pleasant and attentive. Definitely worth a look if in the area.

We love Buy the Book! Not only do they support local authors, but they have a great selection. My daughters are voracious readers, and they come away with so many more books than if we went to a big store. They have a loyalty program, and, perhaps more importantly, a store cat who is just too cute. You will not regret checking it out.

Ambiance: Whimsically cute bookshop tucked away in a small boutique shopping area off Sawdust - Buy The Book is a must visit when shopping for a favorite author or looking to find another book to read! I love going in and seeing their bookstore cat Luna! Luna will ensure you feel welcomed as you peruse the various bookshelves. Many books are used but in good condition and even better pricing! They offer multiple events each month from writing meetups to tarot card readings. Definitely recommend checking their upcoming event calendar if you are wanting to get more involved in reading/writing or the local community. Parking onsite! Child-friendly with an entire playroom area perfect for kids to scroll through potential favorite books. Lots of YA books available. They have a cute section of "Blind date" books (Books that are wrapped so you can be surprised once you get home!) Lots of trinkets and small gifts available for purchase. A great spot for finding a unique book or gift.

I visited for the first time yesterday and it was a delight! From the minute that you park and walk to the front door, you are transported to a magical realm. The ambience of this store (Both inside and outside )is amazing! There are beautiful trees greeting you in front of the door along a winding foot path. Once you walk in, you are welcomed in by their friendly feline, Luna. Not only do they have a beautiful selection of books, but they offer handmade goods from local artisans within our community. Bookshop girl was friendly, polite, and extremely helpful! They definitely will have a return visitor, and I will be letting all of my friends know about this hidden gem!

Beautiful book store, the childrens area made me think of "the shop around the corner" from you've got mail. They have a little reading area for kids, with a small table for puzzles, wasn't able to look at the used books section but felt great to enter a book store that seems to be family owned. This place is special, please don't take this the wrong way but it smells like a book and I LOVE THAT SMELL. Lol Will be participating in their activities as my toddler is a book lover!
