Books From California

I recently ordered a 1929 first edition hardback from Books From California. It arrived on time, well packaged, and in excellent condition. I was very happy with my experience.

Purchased book from Books From California from Amazon listing(072708), which had no description and listed condition as good. Seller had same book listed at same time on Abe's Books, which I found after making purchase. That listing had a description of good condition with some creases and tears. Book was delivered 080825. First, book was poorly packed. It is to large(12" X 17") and to heavy(1.75 pounds) for any kind of envelope, but that is what was used. The spine of the book was broken and page biddings were coming loss. There were greasy finger prints on some pages and some pages show signs of water/beverage stains. Due to the poor packing the hard bond covers both front and back, all the corners are now all bashed in. I guess one part of the decription not being correct was a good thing, I did not find any tears as was in the Abe's Books description I would not recommend purchasing from this seller on line. I can not comment about in-store purchase.

I have bought several thousands of books from this Book Seller over the years. Greg Is a wonderful person to do business with and I highly recommend his company. They also sell to school and Libraries, I have been told. They also have Bookstores that go by the name of The Open Book. Happy Reading everyone!

Followed directions on included return instructions for return and refund. That was two months ago, tracking showed return delivered about 6 weeks ago, no refund issued yet. Customer service has been remarkably unresponsive to requests for a refund or return of the parcel as I am still being charged.

This book was not 'Very Good". The cover is mashed in with crinkles all over. I will not buy another book from this company.

I spent $142 + $50 shipping on a 1st edition leather-bound by Kurt Vonnegut and they sent me the 1990 edition which is worth a fraction of the cost I paid. I had to arrange a shipping courier in Canada. I contacted booksfromcalifornia through the site I bought it from. If they don’t have a copy of the actual book I ordered, I’ll be extremely saddened. I’ve spent what I’d saved from literal childhood piggy bank for this book and it would be one of my most prized possessions if I actually received it. -.-

Fast shipment, the book arrived quite quickly in Europe, securely packaged with tracking. Photos of the book were sent on request before purchasing, the book was exactly as advertised. Very happy with my purchase!
