Very Korean! Love coming here. Food is amazing. Seafood pancake is amazing. Kimchi fried rice is super flavorful. Love the spicy pork. Those 3 are always my go to order. I’ve tried the japchae, fried chicken, corn cheese and kimchi cheese pancake. All are amazing. I like the soju cocktails they make as well. I’m pretty sure I tried all the flavors. On a weekend or Friday night it’ll be busy and there will be a wait around dinner time but you can put your name and phone number down. I like how they are open late as well. Service is good and I like how they have a button to call the waiter. I always recommend people to come here.
Decoration of this place is lovely! Almost feels like the inside of a ship, lots of wood and dark tones. And huge win for staying open late! Staff is very polite and I've heard that their drinks are good, but the food doesn't stay behind! I tried their Beef Kimchi Fried Rice, Chicken Gizzard Stir Fry, Calamari Stir Fried and Calamari Soup, they were all tasty. Honest Korean food, good servings for a decent price! And if you are coming for a late night dinner or something, parking is a breeze! I have been here a few times and will be back again!
If you wanna cozy at home feeling comfort meal come to this spot! I just revisited this place over the weekend and haven’t been back in a couple of years. Came on a Saturday night around 6:15 and waited about 40 minutes or so. It gets packed on Saturday. Their side of rice is so good! It tasted excellent with the army stew we had. The portions were huge. I maybe would skip the chicken gizzard as it was a little overdone and salty.
I really liked this place. Went with a group of 4 on a Monday night around 6:30pm. Place wasn’t busy until 7 or so, so we were seated right away. It has the cute cozy feel of a "hole in the wall" restaurant. It had fun string lights and not too loud background which makes this a great date spot. We got the tteokbokki with ramen (highly recommend with ramen), japchae with beef, seafood kimchi pancake and kimchi beef fried rice. I love all, the japchae IMO could’ve used a little more umami flavor but still, everything was great. And the price! We spent about $25/person which was great for all we got. The service was friendly and prompt. Clean bathroom. Clean restaurant. I really enjoyed coming here and would come back again!
Every dishes are tasty and flavourful. The servers are very prompt and accurate. Addition that they open until late when the whole city dinner is closed early. I asked them to cook food for my dad special dietary, they happy to cook it and it came out perfect. Will be back when visit SF again and will recommend to everyone i know. Good job!
We went around 8pm and was lucky it wasn't overly busy. This place is cozy if not tight, but that's part of the charm. Many local places in Korea are like this, usually even smaller so this place has that vibe. We've been here before but I've never written a review, but this visit compelled me to share one in hopes that management might see it. This place is, and can be good, there are some dishes that are good, but some (on our visit) were just not good at all and would never order it again. Let's start with the bad. Bulkogi -Was not good. Dry and bland, hardly any flavor, the stuff in the hot foods section at Kukje is far better (and it's not exactly great). No excuse for this, and I don't give any Korean restaurant slack for messing up a hallmark dish. Cheese corn - If you like the idea of overly cooked canned corn (see pic) covered in a layer of melted cheese and nothing else as good, then my friend, you haven't had good cheese corn. Would never order this again. The good/ok. Kimchee fried rice was good, tangy as it should be, with a fried egg on top. Kimchee pancake was ok/good. Nothing to write home about but we were hungry, it came out fast and was decent enough. Sister House in Hayward makes a good example, nice and lightly crispy on the outside, good kimchee taste. Service was friendly. The place is tidy, they clean up your area and might even vacuum before they seat you. They are open late which is great for people who work late or had a night out, and are hungry again. Son comes here and always orders the fried chicken and some other things so those are probably better. Read other reviews and find out what others order and recommend.
Amazing place - I can’t think of another place where you only need to spend $15 per person and be so satisfied. Have the stew and you won’t regret it. Everything else is good too but the screw will have to be the center piece. 100% recommended! Ps, the place is packed, come early or super late, or you’ll have to wait for 1 hr or so.
