Awesome place! It sells stuff like dictionaries, picture books, Chinese-learning books, character practice books, and assorted paintings and statues. The hallmark of the location, however, is the grand selection of Chinese comic books/ Manhuas/ 漫畫/ 漫画. Mama Jiang particularly sells some of the older books, if anyone is scouring for older copies or editions. Please come and check it out yourselves!

Tons of great Chinese books (they carry English books as well) in this bookstore and I had a lovely conversation with Jiang Mama! Jiang mama is a 80 years old Taiwanese American and she has been running the business for 30+ years. Just incredible! A must visit if you’re in SF Chinatown and the bookstore can definitely use some support.

Hanging out with the 75-year old Taiwanese American grandma that owns and runs this shop was such a delight this past Saturday. She has some amazing cook books in Chinese and I bought a few for my mother in law. Her prices are extremely reasonable. Grandma is very personable and kind. She also offered to teach me how to make some Taiwanese delicacies and I would've taken her up on the offer if I didn't have to come back to NYC the very next day! Go for the books; stay for the chat with grandma!

Sino-American Books & Arts is a great place to visit in San Francisco! Grandma Jiang was so friendly and taught me a couple of mandarin sentences.

Mother Chiang is very nice to me. Sometimes I will volunteer to help her clean her bookstore and I will ask for a book or two for return. She gladly agreed and will cook for me at times. The book store is not earning money nowadays. She rents other house for income. This book store is her side job. She's very kind. And the book store has many hidden gems. And each customer has his own story there. I was there mainly because I practice Falun Dafa, an ancient Chinese cultivation practice for mind and body. I found it very helpful. And Mother Chiang is helping to sell the book of Falun Dafa there. She is very kind. While China is persecuting this practice in China nowadays, she still helps us. That's very nice of her. If you have time, welcome to browse her bookstore and leave some marks there! You will love it. It's your second home. 欢迎大家光顾。内有《转法轮》等书籍出售，更有儿童书、妇女书、烹饪、历史、古书、漫画书、武侠小说等售卖或出租。很赞哦！书店的老板蒋妈妈正在亏本经营，她会用她出租房子的钱支持她的生活和书店，但是看到她还蛮幸苦的，希望大家多多帮衬和支持。有时可以过去做义工，帮妈妈收拾一下也好。妈妈会煮饭和给一些你想要的东西给你。我在的时候，她是这么对我的，人超好。超讨厌共产党，也很同情法轮功，是台湾人台湾人就是好，有人情味。

I love Jiang Mama. She's the super friendly snazzy lady owner of the bookstore. She has a huge collection of Chinese books. They're all reasonably priced. I picked up a few up traditional Chinese medical books and was thrilled.

Jiang MaMa is the best!! She’s so sweet and has such an incredible memory to be able to find what you need in this treasure cove of a store ! I was specifically looking for San Mao comics, but was able to walk away with a DVD set. I would come here even if I had nothing to buy just to see her - a bright and warm presence to make any visit to Chinatown just that much better. And I traveled from hours away - well worth the trip 🥰
