Customer Reviews
Central Book Exchange has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 based on over 386 reviews on Google
Great used book store. I went in looking for a certain book about an hour before close. Someone with long blonde hair helped me find it. They were very nice and I didn't feel rushed at all. Their science fiction section was a little nook but they had some solid books and a diverse selection of authors. The prices are fair especially for the area. I know vibe is important for a lot of people when it comes to book stores and this one is comfy. More akin to grandpa's private collection then a fully manicured experience. Felt welcoming and pleasant in an organic way. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
This is my favorite bookstore!! The vibes cannot be beaten when you think of a quintessential bookstore. Such a welcoming environment, and the staff is lovely! Feels like I'm coming for the people as much as the books! I love donating books there as much as I love bringing them home with me
Do not give these people a Any books!!! They dump them Right Into The Trash. They're at it again today, filling the entire dumpster with books. It's not a bunch of self-help books, damaged books, or anything covered in cat pee like they claim if you ask. These are perfectly good classics, Sci-Fi books, mysteries, and beautiful books from the 1800's that ought to be preserved. They could give them away for free, sell them for a dollar, give them to the library, goodwill, anything. Give or sell them to thriftbooks online even. But no, about 200 lb go into the dumpster on a daily basis. You have to be a really sick, heartless individual, to convince yourself that throwing books in the garbage is fine. Your bookstore is a Disgrace!
The central book exchange is a very nice cozy little bookshop. Stopped here after some hot yoga down the road and was very pleasantly surprised by their variety of books! Haven't been to a lot of bookshops in salt lake yet but this one is high on the list! 🤠
My wife and I absolutely love this place! It’s just big enough, but just small enough at the same time. The staff is extremely friendly, and even remembers your name if you come in regularly. Ask them about their warehouse sales, and they might be able to escort you to their warehouse where they have a TON of books for SUPER cheap. I’m not sure how often they do it though. Also, if you bring in any books you don’t want, they will give you a credit that you can use to discount your future purchases.
Best Indie bookstore around! Store is always organized with eye-catching new displays. Staff is amazing and knowledgeable, and they'll help you find just what you need! This should be your new go-to, check them out!
Absolutely love this little book shop. I have never been disappointed a single visit. They have such a great collection and the people I have met there are so friendly.
