I visit this store about 3 times each year and spend over $500 each time. I keep going because they always have a good collection of history books in great condition. Each time I leave I consider whether I will return again because of the poor customer service that I receive there. Unfriendly. Unhelpful. Dismissive. In the many years I have shopped there, I dont ever recall them thanking me for my purchases. I never walk away feeling happy about my experience...i am always happy about the books, but never the service. Today's visit was the worst. First, when I asked for direction as to where I could begin to pile the books I planned to purchase (ultimately 3 full boxes over $500) the response i got was dismissive (as if i was bothering them when in fact i was trying to be respectful as to not place books in their way as I shopped. Then, at time of checkout, when carrying box #1 to my car, I noticed that the person boxing them was stacking spine down with spine up on top (which leads to bending of pages). When I returned to store, I kindly asked staff person to please put all spine down or lay them flat. I was ignored by her and cashier made an excuse that they were doing the best they could with the space of each box. No offer to repack. So I reboxed the books at my car outside. 4 hardcover books were damaged just from the way they were packed. I went in to return one of the four and to show them the damage. Note, i kept three of the newly damaged books. Again i was dismissed when i showed the damage (at least 15 pages were crumpled). They did give me my money back for the one but no apology. I work in retail and i absolutely would have said "we are sorry that happened." I am so disappointed. I always try to support Indie stores and generally find Indie stores offer excellent customer service...or at the very least, not staff are not dismissive and rude. It truly doesn't feel like they want my business.

The Reader’s Corner is a nice place to hunt for treasure books. They got wide varieties of categorized topics and the books have different prices, from 10 to 25 cents for the books outside, but the books and cds inside ranges from a dollar to more than 20 dollars. Just check out that they charge your credit card for a fee. They also buy used books to sell. 4 star for me.

Great bookstore for used books of all genres; fiction, non-fiction, and anything in between. Great prices too! They have 10 and 25 cents book outside, but there are also great quality books at great prices inside as well. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. Parking available. This was my first time visit here and will definitely be coming back.

I love the vibe of this place. The employees were having interesting conversations and planning a Rocky Horror production. They have reasonable prices on vinyl and books and a well organized selection. So happy I walked in here.

Really great selection and prices. unfortunately it really does feel like the staff does not want you to shop there. if you're not in plain sight while shopping, they will check up on you in sometimes not subtle ways. really wish i could enjoy spending time and browsing in here rather than feel the need to get in and out as soon as possible.

Such a quaint little bookstore! I found 3 books on the outside shelves (all in great condition and 2 of them were recently on the New York Times bestseller list!) and paid exactly 75 cents. I could probably take the whole store home with me, but other than that, it really is such a great hidden gem for bookworms!

Best bookstore in Raleigh! Huge selection of used books at amazing prices. I could stay all day! I especially love that the sale of the books outside go to support NPR ❤️
