Philly AIDS Thrift @ Giovanni's Room

What an amazing place I had no idea existed. Prices are great and the selection is fantastic. So much knowledge and education in this little store. The amount of different genres and the selection of books was so diverse that I am utterly impressed. I loved this place so much, and it was a great spot to visit especially being a huge fan of Giovanni’s Room by James Baldwin

I was here recently and the first two records in the new arrivals bin were albums I've been looking for for years. They have some amazing rare books as well. Everyone is friendly and the vibe is good

Damn right I loved it. I could have shopped here all morning. I got a great book, amazing recommendations for drinks and dinner and comics. It was reassuring to hear about positive experiences for queer folks living in Philly and they also recommended South Street Art Mart which you can read about the glory of elsewhere.

AIDS Thrift's layout of the shop is 2 floored with various goods for sale. Aestheticly the stores is topnotch and clearly loved with a non-traditional approach to interior deccrating offering more of a homey vibe than your goodwill. They mainly focus on clothes but they also offer household items, art, games, books, etc. and a lot at that! In terms of price everything extremely reasonable with prices ranging from 5-30 for clothes! AIDS Thrift is a very cared for store and deserves it's praise being a home to the community and those looking to build themselves ups and share their wealth. Would recommend! TLDR: Great location! Affordably priced! Absolutely worth visiting!

Love the selection of used and new books as well as the price range. I go every week or two to replenish my to read pile and never walk out disapointed. The staff are welcoming and friendly.

Extremely welcoming space with helpful staff that has a decent turnover on used items, so you'll always find something new there.
