University of Minnesota Bookstores

We are really fortunate to have a bookstore of this caliber. They have everything that our classes require. They are also very willing to special order materials that might not be in stock so don't hesitate to ask Matt if he can make a special order for you. Outside of everyday small things, The apple store within the book store has great deals on macbooks, ipads and a great selection of various windows based laptops. All top of the line and most are able to be purchased with your ucard/student account. Which is a really great option if you intend to include your laptop in your cost of attendance. They have a huge selection of official gopher apparel. they also have an in house print shop that can handle professional grade printing on a huge assortment of top quality papers. it's a must see for anyone visiting or touring the university!

One of the most useless locations to ask for help with your laptop. I asked a guy for help and he was busy to pay attention to me since he was playing clash royale.

A great place for students to relax

Staff have been kind and helpful in my experience. I'm happy with the selection of books and supplies here, although you can probably find a better price on many items elsewhere. It can be really busy at the start and end of the semester when everyone is scrambling to buy and return/sell textbooks.

The short-haired brunette who works here is so rude. I was being rung up by a girl who was new, and she was struggling to scan an item- clearly no fault of her own since she’s new. The short-haired brunette tells the other girl to move over and then glares at me and says in such a rude tone "I need to help the other customers." I was so confused because she never told me to move to a different register or anything, and I didn’t know what she wanted from me. It never hurts to just be nice to someone and explain what you need from them- especially if it’s your job?? Such a strange experience.

Honestly, it has an amazing selection of products. When you walk in the entrance (directly across from the escalator) to the right is the registers. There usually isn't a huge line, and there are plenty of cashiers. Right by the entrance is all the main U merch / clothing. It is so overpriced. 60 dollars for pajamas that literally ripped one day in, shirts for 30$, and everything else to empty your wallet. If you go further in, straight ahead is the bookstore, which has a super good selection. To the left is a general store with medicine, groceries, snacks, and U decorations along with a clearance section for the merchandise. To the right is the electronics and supplies store. Again, super expensive for everything but that's expected. Further right is the textbook/coursework section. It's pretty organized. Overall, it's seriously 3 stars. Not amazing, not terrible.
