Have you ever stepped foot into a place and the moment you did you just knew that it was someplace special? That's how my wife and I felt the moment we first stepped into The Quill & Candle Bookshop. It's no secret that Longmont has its fair share of bookstores in town, and don't get me wrong all of them are great in their own way, but The Quill & Candle just has that extra something special. The shop is beautifully decorated to the point where it feels warm and inviting. It's clear that they took great care in designing the space to suit every type of reader; from a wonderful central open space, a secluded reading nook, to even a dedicated children's section! It's one thing to be knowledgeable about something, but it's something entirely different to be passionate about it. Spend just a few minutes in The Quill & Candle Bookshop and it will become self-evident that the owners, Aubri and James, are both knowledgeable and passionate! Like a genre of literature but not sure where to expand outside what you've already read? They'll steer you in the right direction to something you'll end up loving! Interested in a particular author? Not only are they familiar with their work, they'll actively give you recommendations on other similar works by other authors as well! Want a book but it turns out they don't have it in stock at the moment? They'll order it specially for you! Need that book the same day? They'll work with the other great bookstores in town to find it for you! When you end up talking with them about all of the books they have in stock (which they themselves curate), and I cannot urge you enough to talk to them about any or all of the amazing selections they have, you’ll end up finding yourself inexplicably matching that passion and sharing with them all of the love you hold for reading. The level of true, authentic happiness you receive when you're there becomes so infectious that you'll end up finding yourself talking about it days or sometimes even weeks later, checking your own reading list, and start planning your next visit! Now, normally I'd say that my wife and I had an amazing experience and that we'd be back, but in this case we already have, and to be clear, we absolutely will again, and soon! I absolutely loved that I stumbled across this bookshop. It was so homey and well decorated. The owner was lovely and gave a lot of good recommendations. Offered us some tea and let us wonder but was there if we had any questions. They were also very knowledgable about the books and you can tell they really love their job. I will definitely make it a priority to stop there every time I am in the area.

Longmont has gained the cutest little corner bookshop in the downtown Prospect neighborhood! Aubri & James have but their hearts and souls into this cozy bookshop and feature new, used and rare books. They have a sweet room just for children and several places to sit and peruse your books. They also carry a collection of affordable and unique gift items.

Can I leave this shop ten stars? What an awesome local bookstore!! Aubri and James both gave me excellent suggestions, and I even got a complimentary cup of tea as I browsed their very intentional, hand-picked selection. A nice variety of books, especially in their romance/sci-fi/fiction sections, including a small room for children’s. The space is well decorated, complete with comfy chairs to cozy down with the books you find. Already looking forward to the next time I can make it over there to bring home another stack of books!

The Quill & Candle Bookshop is an absolute gem. Aubri, the owner, is wonderful—warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about authors and book recommendations. She helped me find exactly what I was looking for. The children’s area is beautifully designed with a great selection of books, toys, and stuffed animals for all ages. A truly magical and inviting shop!

This is an adorable cozy and welcoming bookstore. The shop owner is incredibly friendly and has managed to create a wonderful atmosphere with sitting areas, tea, snacks, and even a make-your-own ornament spot. I absolutely loved my experience here.

Easily the best bookstore in Longmont. Quill & Candle caters to fiction lovers both young and still young at heart. As an avid horror-lover, I found so many good books there that I couldn’t possibly take them all home at once. Whatever your fiction-fancy, they have an amazing selection of books you likely won’t find in other places. Their gifts are not to be missed either- perfectly curated trinkets, games, and toys for people of all ages. Don’t miss out on this gem!
