Captain's Bookshoppe LLC

Great bookstore with an amazing eclectic vintage selection! Despite being a little crowded, the experience was perfect. The owner was incredibly friendly and kind. I ended up buying some original Harry Potter books. Highly recommended!

He agreed to buy my books at a certain price on Tuesday. We said, "We have a deal!" and shook hands. When I brought the books in on Friday, he said only, "I decline," with no further explanation. Be careful. This is not an honorable man.

Captain Jeff's exceptionally personable and his book browsing experience can't be beat. I bought some fine literature and scandalous reads, ready to be perused, used, and handed down to future sailors of the high seas. Spread Love, and stay literate.

I love my books that are about local history! I inquired about local history books and Jeff emailed me with details about what he had. I paid over the phone and even delivered them. What wonderful customer service! The books themselves look new, wow! Thank you.

I called the store to ask about a book I recently bought. The owner answered and he was very helpful and friendly. I could tell he has a deep passion for old rare book's and likes to talk about them. If I ever get my hands on a rare book again I'm definitely calling Jeff at captain's BookShoppe in Iowa city to help me out.

Love this place! So, many vintage and newer books. It has a great selection. It's my go to place to buy books. The prices are super reasonable.

I love this place! If you are looking for a specific book, this is your place. And even if you're not, this is a great place to find books. I come here as often as I can, and can say half of my library at home (which isn't small) came from this store.
