The Whispering Shelf

What a fantastic book shop! The vibes are immaculate of course, but the books are equally as glamorous. From old fan favorites to new novels, this place had everything. The shop is set up with ease and finding books was a breeze. They had lots of cute decor around, and some totes and stickers for purchase. The staff was really nice and they even have a book program you can sign up for if you’re local. They also had tables outside which was nice to see people reading at and enjoying their coffee. The area nearby is very walkable, with many locals stopping in. Definitely stop by if you get a chance, one of the best bookstores I’ve been to!

Get ready for the world's longest review because I adore these folks and they deserve it. TLDR; If you're thinking about hosting an event here, DO IT. If you're a bookish couple or you just love stories or you want an intimate space to be in love and happy, DO. IT. They're the absolute best. If you're not hosting an event, but still curious about The Whispering Shelf GO IN or join a book club. It's so so so beautiful. This maybe goes without saying, but Lena is a STAR. She helped me pre-plan everything for the space and completely handled set up AND (yes, there's another and) she also managed music for the day alongside my brother. Also, as happens with weddings, one of our decor items, a mirror my husband bought for a birthday a couple years ago, totally shattered. They cleaned it up so quickly that I had NO idea anything even broke until well after the ceremony. When I'd heard and, I imagine, had panic in my eyes about the mirror breaking, Lena immediately reassured me and said "That's good luck for you both! Don't worry about it. :)" I swear I could have hugged her. I have never been more grateful for another human than in that moment. I was ready for 28 years of horrible luck and Lena snapped that away in an instant. With some vendors, you know they're there out of obligaiton. With Lena & team, that couldn't be further from the truth. I could tell that she and her team were genuinely so happy for us and wanted to celebrate us -- ugh i'm crying all over, haha. They were invested in understanding us as a couple and brought my exact vision to life without me having to ask! When I tell you I was able to be the most laid back bride known to man because of this stellar team, I mean it. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW AMAZING THEY WERE AS A BRIDE!!! This moment, this space, the books we bought and were gifted still make me cry happy tears because it was such a perfect day. I'm so, so grateful for their patience, candor, focus, and enthusiam for the day. I can't wait to bring my niece, friends, family, husband and future kiddos back here to buy all of the books. It was super friendly and cozy, had a great selection of books! Found some familiar titles and new ones that instantly got my attention. Love the accessories and trinkets. Calaveras stickers?? ICE whistles??? Let's go!

Easily the best selection in the area! I truly love all of Indys small bookstores but The Whispering Shelf is the one both my husband and I enjoy. A lot of other shops cater to a certain type of reader (ME!) but TWS has a more diverse selection including a great fantasy and nonfiction section too!

I went here for the first time today and was quite impressed by this bookstore. The employees are super friendly. I end up buying a few books there today. The selections are abundant and every genre is well organized on the shelves. I’ll definitely have to make another visit here. I highly recommend this place.

Driving in Indy when I randomly came across this gem and it is hands down one of the best bookshops I’ve ever been to. The shop itself is beautiful, bright, and inviting and the books are so organized that it makes browsing so peaceful. If you’re a book lover, this is a must visit!
