Books Do Furnish a Room

Good selection. Smells like books as soon as you walk in. Dark inside. Okay pricing. They are inside when you open the cover. Accepts cards too.

Basically the only "classic" used book store in Durham/Chapel Hill left. Feels like a library you can buy from. Everything else in the area is too clean, too curated, at least for my tastes. Walk in here with $50 in your wallet and you walk out with a years’ worth of reading.

If you love searching through old books to see what treasures you can find, this is a great bookstore for you. Plenty of old books, pulp novels, and even comic books. Definitely a must stop for the Intown visitor, and a regular visit for the locals.

I've been coming here for years. Definitely an authentic hidden gem in Durham. They're just so few places like this left in the world.

This shop is full of vintage books and comics. Our son loved the bookshelf on their front porch that had many books at a discounted price. He found an older candy making book that my parents had when I was a child.

You are immediately hit with the smell of books when you walk in this store. They have a large selection of comics. Make sure you have time and patience to wonder to find treasures because there is so much to see. I didn’t find an romance if that is what you have in mind. Also is you are sensitive to dust you may want to wear a mask.

BOOKSTORES ARE INTEGRAL TO LOCAL CULTURE This place is fantastic! A great selection of collectable books, comic books, cd's and records. My favorite part is the comic book section, which has some amazing indie comics from the 90's (as well as current issues and more). In the summer the AC is not too great, so if you plan to browse for long, come in the morning or in the evening. I recommend this place to everyone I know.
