Recently picked up a blind book for $10 and it was an excellent read! It came with stickers and a bookmark and the book was likely brand new because it didnt have any usage to it. Definitely a good deal. I would rather support this bookstore than buying used books from chain thrift stores because these books are in great condition.
This place was so cute!!! From what I saw they have a little organization where prisoners can send in their letters and they send books to the prison for the prisoners to read, and they had letters handwritten by people in prison on display that you could pick up and read throughout the store, which I thought was fascinating and wonderful. We didn’t get to speak to the lady working the front. She was very busy working on the phone on her computer. They have a nice selection of used books. It’s not huge. The young adult section was very small and was like one shelf, wish it was more but it probably depends on what the store gets in. Would check this place out again. In a really neat cozy location also.
I love this little bookstore! Cheap used books contributing to a great cause, definitely worth checking out.
This a great used bookstore located inside Claremont Packing House. The selection is excellent and books are categorized by subject. They also host monthly art exhibits and, at other times, speakers, films, and musicians. We love shopping for and donating books at this store. Proceeds help fund Prison Library Project. They send 100’s of books to prisoners every month based on prisoners’ requests. It’s a beautiful space and worthy of your patronage. Check it out.
Every time I come here, they are always closed. I came here on a thursday after noon and the door was locked and 4 closed signs on the door with no explanation why. I'm sure it's a nice bookstore if I could actually go inside? I think it's ridiculous they have hours posted everywhere and then are closed when they say they are open.
Great place to sip coffee and look for books. Love going to this place centrally located in Claremont. Very knowledgeable staff and percentage of revenue going to a good cause.
Surprisingly large selection for the small space and they have a lot of variety. There are a lot of books and ephemera that I haven't seen elsewhere, including literary maps (I picked up a map of LA with locations from Raymond Chandler's books marked on it). Seems to have a lot of rare and collectable titles as well as a selection of signed books. There's a large discount section in front of the shop where books are 2 for $1.
