Madison Street Books

Madison Street Books has a really nice and curated collection of books Since it is near the hotel I was staying at, I thought I would stop by and check it out yesterday morning Based on the exterior aesthetic, I wasn’t sure if it would be more of a used bookstore or a bookstore with newer books, but it has more books that are popular right now than I thought it would have It’s nicely organized, and if I were local, I would have likely stopped by every once in a while

I stopped by Madison Street Books for the first time this past Saturday and was so impressed by the whole experience. The space is cozy and beautifully arranged, with a really thoughtful selection of books. It's clearly an LGBTQ+ friendly store— I immediately felt comfortable and seen. I ended up picking up a copy of "Gender Euphoria", which I was so happy to find on their shelves. They also had many beautiful accessories, I even found a tote bag that brought back great memories—it felt like the perfect little treasure! The staff were kind and helpful, and the overall vibe was just lovely. I’m so glad I found this place, and I can’t wait to come back!!

Cute little place. Very nice staffs, very nice atmosphere. Comfortable chairs if you want to have a read. Gotta love it. Definitely bring your kid in if you’re a parent. Also appreciate that they have a feminist section and a russia/ukraine section of books on display in the center of the store.

Every time I pass this bookstore, at least one of the books in the window catches my eye. Once I’m inside my eyes become bigger than my wallet, but they have a rewards program so it balances out lol. I love I’ve discovered books here I haven’t seen in other independent bookstores- this is a compliment to the store layout, book spotlights, and recommendations. This shop is very well curated! Love this independent bookstore and the awesome employees!

I stopped by during my visit to Chicago. The ladies were kind and friendly. The bookstore is cozy, well organized, and offers a wide selection of books. One lady helped me find similar bookstores I can visit in my hometown. I will definitely visit Madison Street Books every time I travel to Chicago.

Love the small time book store feel… warm, comforting and intellectual. I hope these types of stores return to be a part of our culture again … Amazon is good but easy to loose the feel of touching and sampling books in person
