I love this place, it's my sanctuary whenever I have a day off! My mom only speaks Spanish and prior to the renovation we would spend our only time together walking around this specific location, looking, and buying new books to read. However, after visiting the renovated store to see the section before taking my mom, I saw that the Spanish section has been immensely downsized and it's devastating! I understand the section did not have much foot traffic but I also don't understand how my mom and other Spanish only readers are supposed to enjoy themselves coming here. I am very disappointed.

The cashier was so friendly & nice! I asked if she could price match the recipe book I saw on their site & she was able to do it for me seamlessly!

Great place to take toddlers! The downstairs kids dept is wonderful. Could use a few more chairs for tired parents and grandparents.

This is one of my favorite bookstores in the entire city. They have such a great selection, and the staff is also always helpful!

I visited this store with my 16 year old & he loved it! We mainly got brain teasers & card games, but there's a huge selection of books. The place is organized & the staff is very friendly & helpful. They also have a Starbucks in the store which is great for resting your tired feet.

I love Barnes & Noble of park slope and have been coming here for years. I was excited to finally check out the new and renovated set up, and it was great. I am going to lower my rating from 5 to 3 stars because of the new restroom policy. This used to be a safe space where you can shop for books, read, drink coffee, use the restroom, unwind and relax. Having to first finish shopping to "earn" a receipt which then shows a code to the bathroom wrecks that entire atmosphere. It ruins the routine and creates anxiety as you shop, as it forces you to hurry your shopping along so you can go to the restroom. They used to have a whole foreign language section including language learning books in Arabic, Yiddish, Hebrew, Russian, French, Spanish and much more. However, they got rid of that section entirely and decreased it to one lousy shelf under "reference". A bit disappointing, and I hope they consider expanding that section. The Libros en Español section used to offer much more variety.

The rennovation turned this place into an overpriced mall gift shop. The locks on the bathroom aslo? coming here for 14 years and suddently not have access to a restroom? where are people suppose to pee? Buy a 30 dollars book and 10 dollar coffee just to take a piss? in a bathroom thats not even clean. The lights also? who decided to add bright lighting , the obnoxious piano music that is distracting. The starbucks in these stores are also 2-3 dollars more costly . Not a single employee is freindly here in the years that I've come to this location, I never had anyone ask me if I needed help, and if I ever approached anyone, they werent thrilled. The entire vibe of this place changed, I was a loyal customer since 2012 and I dont think Im coming back after today.
