I was looking for some children’s Chinese books for my daughter who is learning Mandarin. They had plenty to choose from plus more if you are fluent in reading Chinese. I recommend just walking around this store to look at all the interesting books they have.

This is a hidden gem bookstore for those interested in Chinese language texts. They carry Chinese translations of Western books and have a large set of beginner learners' Chinese textbooks. Also, they carry copies of the famous ancient texts （孫子兵法，易經，論語，道德經）and the great novels (西遊記，三國演義，紅樓夢), which is super helpful for an ABC like me who's looking to get back into studying Chinese literature! I talked with the owner - unfortunately, not that many Chinese bookstores have survived these past couple of years. LA Chinese American community please support if you can!

The owner is an elder lady, she and her staff are super nice. I have bought calligraphy paper from here before, they were good quality.

World book store but they only have "Chinese books" that mak a Sense

The best place for people who are looking for mandarin book. They don’t have that much in store. However, they help you to book whatever the book you are looking for. Don’t even have to be a huge amount order, a single book it’s fine. And there’s no additional charge for it. I’d called for a specific book, they searched and help me book it so I could pick up in store. The book arrived in 2 weeks. Not sure why all the comments are complaining about their attitude. The first time I called the lady did couldn’t heard clearly, so I have to repeated it again and again, feel like there’s some problems with their phone. But that’s the only issue, the lady’s there are all friendly and nice. Some people complain about they answer the phone with mandarin. Come on stupid people, you are calling a book store right next to the Chinese supermarket, not to mention they only sell Chinese book. And there customers are mostly Chinese speaker. That’s not fair for them.

My phone conversation when I called: Employee: answers in foreign language Me: hello? Employee: Do you speak Chinese? Me: no Employee: Hangs up My first language isn’t English, my family has had a business for 30 years in the United States. Never in that time has it ever been acceptable to answer in Spanish and hang up on anymore who didn’t speak it. So uncultured and disrespectful.

Easy to park and walk-up. It usually has good stock of popular newspapers. Occasionally they sell-out, may want to call ahead to check stock, especially around chinese holidays, or long weekend.
