The Makeup Bar

Paid deposit, then months of silence. My fiancée and I booked The Makeup Bar (Rocklin) in July 2025 for our mid-2026 wedding and paid just under $3,000 upfront. Since then, communication has effectively stopped. For the past ~2 months (approaching 3) we've received no responses to multiple emails and voicemail messages, despite repeated attempts to confirm details and next steps for our wedding date. At this point we have no clear confirmation that services will be provided and multiple links on their website are broken. The contract we received focuses heavily on client payment requirements, but does not clearly explain what happens if the vendor fails to deliver or becomes unreachable, which has made this especially stressful while planning a wedding. I wanted to share this so other couples factor in the current lack of communication before booking. It looks like their business license has been suspended.

Booked for a wedding in May and emailed in November to ask a question, and have not heard anything back. Called, emailed, texted, and messaged on social media for months. No response. I then tried to cancel my contract as I am worried they may no show or not respond at all, with again no response. Do not book-avoid at all cost.

My hair and makeup for my wedding were beautiful! Shyanne and Chelsy did a great job and were very fun, professional and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend their services! However, I do wish communication leading up to the wedding would have been better. When reaching out to set up my trial after booking, I had to contact them multiple times and wait a long time before I heard anything back. Later when I reached out about our wedding day schedule, I was told that it would be sent to me by a certain date but I never received it until the week before the wedding. I was told it had been sent but they had some sort of glitch with their booking system. Overall, I found it difficult to get in touch with them and the lack of communication added some unnecessary stress during the wedding planning process. Otherwise, the service was 5 stars!

Amazing I loved how my makeup and hair turned out. If your looking for wedding hair and makeup I would 10000% recommend them! My makeup lasted all night and I felt stunning!

We had the privilege of using their services for my mom's wedding this past weekend, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The two owners are genuinely phenomenal - they struck the perfect balance between engaging with us to make the day enjoyable and giving us space to cherish our family moments. From the outset, their communication was top-notch, ensuring a seamless experience. Our hair and makeup looked absolutely fabulous, and the atmosphere in their shop made for a memorable morning. We will undoubtedly be returning for any future hair and makeup needs. Thank you for making our day even more special!

Had my makeup and hair done for maternity photos and it was such a great experience. I had Nina for makeup and Shyanne for hair. They worked on me simultaneously and I went from looking homeless to full glam in an hour. It was so easy to book and my makeup looked absolutely flawless. I had my makeup done at 1 pm and it literally looked perfect until I took it off at 10 pm that day. My lipstick didn't even budge!! I have no idea how that's possible. My hair was so perfect! They clipped in extensions for me that I brought from home and made them look so seamless with my hair. I got so many compliments on my hair throughout the day. My husband loved both hair and makeup too which is always a plus. Definitely going back and using this place for any event I ever have going on.
