Drybar - Newport Beach at Fashion Island

My hair feels AMAZING!! Thanks to Cloie! She is very light handed. Hair came out beautiful , never holds curls it held this time. It was a very safe environment with her and she was so welcoming. The shampoo and conditioner felt like a calm massage. I will definitely be coming back and requesting Cloie.

I made an Uptini appointment and asked for a French Twist style for an event I have tonight (photo 1). What I left with looked nothing like what I asked for (photo 2). I did speak up and ask for my hair to look more like the reference photo, but it doesn't seem like that was effective. I'm now out $99 and hours of my time - both salon time and now trying to watch Instagram videos to quickly fix my hair before I leave. Disappointed to say the least.

I’ve been coming to Drybar for awhile but this was my first time with Lucia and she was amazing! Her wash was perfect her blowout was soooo good. She got me out quicker than most others but with one of the best blowouts I’ve received. My favorite so far! If I can get her all the time, I would be the happiest!

My stylist Meril did such a wonderful job on my hair! I love the way she blows dry and style my hair to the perfect! She is such a sweetheart! I would recommend her to anyone who wants to look beautiful!

I’m traveling to the area and was genuinely excited to finally try Drybar at Fashion Island. I’ve heard great things and was really looking forward to the experience. Unfortunately, my visit started off on the wrong foot. I waited over 35 minutes past my appointment time with no communication whatsoever about the delay. Had I known there was a wait, I would’ve happily grabbed a coffee or walked around Fashion Island—no issue at all. After waiting that long, I finally asked the receptionist for an update. Her response was quiet and abrupt, offering no explanation or apology—just a quick "yeah, she’s running behind, it’ll be soon." I wasn’t offered a drink, an estimate, or any alternative solution. I sat back down and waited another five minutes before being assigned a stylist. The stylist herself was kind and apologetic and even mentioned she didn’t know what time my appointment was scheduled for. I truly wanted to leave happy with the service. However, once I got a chance to see the back of my head, I noticed my extensions were curled in the opposite direction of my natural hair, making the difference very obvious. The stylist spoke often about her experience working with extensions, which made the final result even more disappointing. It’s hard to understand how someone experienced with extensions would leave such a visible mismatch. Overall, this visit fell short of expectations—especially for a brand known for consistency and service. Clear communication, basic hospitality, and attention to detail would have made a significant difference.
