Madison Reed Hair Color Bar Newport Beach

came in today to give Madison Reed a try and wasn’t sure what to expect, since I’ve never been to a salon that specializes only in color. I quickly realized that because of my extensions, I’m not always the best fit for every service, but I can absolutely come in for root touch-ups and blow dry my hair myself afterward. When I first booked, I selected both root color and a blowout service. At first, I was told they might not be able to accommodate me due to my extensions. However, one of the stylists stepped in to help, and it completely turned my experience around. They made sure I didn’t have to leave with wet hair—even though I know that blow-drying extensions isn’t normally part of their policy. That flexibility and kindness really stood out to me. It made such a positive impression and gave me confidence to return for future root color services. Everyone I interacted with had great customer service, especially my colorist and the assistant, and I left feeling truly cared for. I just want to say thank you for accommodating me and going above and beyond. It really meant a lot, and I’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been going to Madison Reed for a while now, and love this place. The quality of their color and service is consistently excellent. I want to especially thank Alon, who always finds the perfect shade for me every time, and makes sure I leave loving my hair. The whole team is friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

Everyone is friendly and professional. I got roots, gloss, and highlights. My hair is naturally dark brown. My stylist was helpful and accommodating, doing his best in our allotted time, even when I added highlights last minute. I love the results!

Love this location out of all the bars in OC! They can custom color your hair (not just straight out of the box). I trust Alon to find the right shade or suggest something new for the season. I love the staff from the manager to the assistants; they are all awesome and personable making your experience wonderful each time.

Miriam & Arom (Spelling?) were so nice. I don't remember the assistance name, yet she was super sweet, as well. I'm so happy to have a membership here. This was my first time and everyone is so welcoming. AND... My hair looks amazing.

I was hopeful but I won't be going back! I stood at the counter for more than 10 minutes before anyone made eye contact with me. I then waited 30 minutes for my full highlight to get started and in total was there for almost 3 hours and that's without a blowdry. My main complaint is the way she highlighted my hair, she put an entire row of hair on the foil then backcombed it which was her way of "weaving" and it completly ratted my hair. It's been 3 days and no matter how much I brush my hair I can't run my fingers through it, it's like it's entirely matted and I have broken hair and frizz from this method. I now have large areas of my hair with chunks of solid highlights instead of fine weaving which I asked for. I would think this method of highlighting has been outdated for some time for this reason... yet in Newport Beach Fashion Island they're still doing it and charing a high price for something that has ruined my hair!
