I asked for a bouncy blowout. Explained what I wanted thoroughly, continued to ask questions through the process because I seen that it was not turning out how I wanted. Was told after it was finished that I had to cut my hair to achieve the look I wanted. Had my hair silk pressed with pins multiple times throughout my life and this was the exact same. Hairdresser went over my hair multiple times with flatiron? Would be fine if it’s what I wanted. Will not be back over 100$ wasted. Inspo pictures posted. My main problem is if I could not achieve this look communicate that, or explain what needs to be done. I also paid 20$ extra for the hair cut???

After a long search for someone to do my hair, I finally walked into this salon and was immediately greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere. They took me right away, and I was so relieved. I couldn’t wait to take off the silk scarf I had been wearing. I asked about the price for a silk press and was told $85. The staff was pleasant and attentive. I appreciated that they listened carefully to my request to not use oil in my hair, since I prefer a lighter, bouncier finish. Throughout my visit, I noticed how kindly they treated every client, always with smiles and good energy. They truly seemed to do everyone’s hair beautifully. When my hair was done, the stylist asked if I had anything to wrap it with. I said I had my silk scarf, but she insisted they use a hair net because it would "hold better." I wasn’t familiar with it, and I mentioned that I usually just use a silk scarf. Her exact words were, "We use them at the Dominicans," so I trusted her judgment. I repeatedly told them how much I enjoyed the service and that I couldn’t wait to give them 5 stars, and I sincerely meant it. But that’s where things took an unexpected turn at checkout. When I went to pay, additional charges appeared that had not been agreed upon. The breakdown included confusion over the original price, the stylist seemed unsure what price she told me originally. She was stuttering between $85 or $88 and wind up charging me $88 which was not the price she 1st mentioned. Then there was a $20 "ends clipping" charge, and a $10 charge for the hair net that I did not request (which I later found cost about $3 at a hair supply store.) On top of that, they charged a $4 card fee, which is actually illegal. I really wanted to brag about their service, but when people ask where I got my hair done, I can’t ignore the unexpected fees they added. Integrity matters to me, and I hope this feedback helps others know what to expect. FYI: that hair net comes off easily.

From the moment I walked into Sophia’s Salon, I could tell it was a great place. The salon was clean, bright, and welcoming, and the staff were so friendly and professional. My appointment started with a relaxing deep hair wash and scalp massage that made my hair feel super soft and clean. The shampoo and conditioner smelled amazing, and the stylist even added a treatment to make it extra smooth. After that, she carefully blow-dried my hair in sections, using a heat protectant spray to keep it healthy. Then she straightened it section by section until it looked sleek, shiny, and soft. She gave me a light trim to clean up the ends and finished with a touch of shine serum that made my hair glow. Everything was done with care, and I could really tell the staff love what they do. I left Sophia’s Salon feeling confident, refreshed, and so happy with how my hair turned out. It’s definitely one of the best salons I’ve ever visited!
