These are independent contractors so pretty much like door dashers. So there's no accountability or professionalism. Very catty, lazy and snotty people. My stylist could never remember what she was doing with my hair despite me getting the same thing every time. So it was a toss up what my hair would look like. Idk why every time she expected me to tell her what she was supposed to do and what colors she's supposed to mix. I'm not the one that went to school for this I don't know what products she needs to use!!!

I really wanted to go here since moving to the area and I booked with Caitlyn for a butterfly cut. After going home and styling it myself I realized the layers were completely uneven on both sides. The manager here was very reasonable and helpful on the phone and convinced me to go back to her to get it fixed. When I got there she was late to my appointment. But that’s okay.. then towards the end of my appointment she had her next client sitting in the chair next to me watching her do my hair. While she fixed the unevenness, my bottom layer is very thin and she completely ruined my thick hair with the shears. I don’t believe she knows how to work with thick hair and thinks it’s just supposed to be thinned. I never asked for my hair thinned. I’m left with a long, thin and dead bottom layer of hair that looks horrible and can’t wait to get it chopped at this point even though I love my long hair. I’m sure the other stylists are great and this is not a reflection of the salon itself, but I really wish I never went to her because my hair was beautiful before that.

I cannot say enough great things about Mili! I was referred by a happy customer, my coworker, and so I drove 30-40 mins from Sac where I work/live to Elk Grove to get a layered cut, curtain bangs and a blonde balyage from Mili. I’m so glad I did! I am 35 years old and have never had better hair my entire life than after Mili got done with me. I normally have dirty blonde, straw like hair with no body and after Milli was done I had volume, a gorgeous natural looking color and actual shape to my hair. Not only that, I was the last appointment in and she stayed late to make sure my hair was perfect and still took the time to style it after. Now it’s a month later and I still have great hair and get regular compliments on it. I just drove all the way back to see Mili just for a bang trim because I won’t be letting anyone else touch my hair ever again LOL. Mili worked in NYC for years and still does professional photo shoots for large companies advertising campaigns on the side. This woman is a pro, book with her and you won’t regret it!

I just got my first haircut at Urban Monk with Mandi and am super happy with the whole process and outcome. I got Mandi’s number from their website and texted her to schedule. She has a convenient way to book on her website (link from her IG @mane_attract_mandi). I was able to get an appointment the next day. Upon arriving, she was ready and on time and greeted me with a smile. She is professional yet warm and welcoming. I went from super long with layers to blunt shoulder length with somewhat difficult to manage hair (thin, but a lot of hair, curly/frizzy). I showed her pictures and she listened and then made suggestions based on my hair type. I was comfortable going for this pretty drastic change because I had seen pictures on her IG and could tell she was confident and has a lot of experience. She gave feedback to my questions about styling, products, etc and I love the end result. I’ll definitely book again with her for my next haircut!

Clean. Open and Bria is the very best salon stylist and color expert I have ever had! Milli does my son's cut. He has a thick curls. She is honest and very good.

I was pleasantly surprised by the relaxing and professional atmosphere of the salon. I got my haircut by Marcos Valencia, who did a great job with my hair. He listened to my preferences and was a great conversationalist which made my time in the barber’s chair fly by. Ask for him!

I have been going to the salon for a couple of years now. I moved up here and needed to find a new stylist. I brought my color formula with me from my stylist in the Bay Area. After a couple of tries with other people I was grateful to have found Lien who uses the Redken color line and has had lots of experience with it. She is warm, kind, friendly and definitely knows her stuff. I trust her 150%. She's also done color for my daughter and it turned out great. The salon is very welcoming and has a cool aesthetic without being overly snobby. It's clean and bright. Everyone is super nice and hip and they are all very good at what they do. I'd definitely recommend Urban Monk.
