Mimi Hair Braiding

Had a great experience at Mimi’s shop! Got my hair done by Fatima C. (Recommended by my sister) and I love my hair! She was super cool, didn’t braid too tight, and listened to how I wanted it. We started around 10 and were done about 3pm. The ambiance was good, they played afrobeats music and the other ladies in the shop were very cool. Mimi the owner was also very kind and made sure that I was taken care of. Overall a great experience!

Gata has been doing my hair for YEARS! I love her and she is gentle and amazing. Tips 1. Show them the style you want and get the price first (they prefer cash) 2. Bring headphones 🎧 if you like to fall asleep. Lately the twist have been falling out

I just got my hair done here and I love it. The parts are perfect and the length is just as long as I wanted and for a reasonable price. They were very clean and polite. I was attended as soon as possible and the ladies made sure to make sure I was comfortable during my appointment. Definitely will come back!!

This is my first time going to Mimi and my first time getting Boho braids. KK and Momma did a Wonderful job!! I will definitely come back and I recommended this location to my friends. I went a couple of days ago to get my hair braided being that I’m all natural. So I drove to East orange. Mimi’s hair braiding shop is a African spot. I has about 10 ladies braiding hair. I was impressed with them following New Jersey’s social distancing , mask wearing , and only the people getting their hair done in the shop. The shop was relatively clean with the exception of the hair that was being worked on. I met the owners everyone was super friendly. They played music native to their country. The atmosphere was fun, and upbeat. So I got box braids in the back , and cornrows in the front in which I will supply a photo. I got my braids long to the middle of my back I paid $140 dollars for them. Which wasn’t bad for the quality and time spent on my hair. If you are looking for place to execute your style , and treat you with respect , and hospitality this is the place. I rated my stars based on customer service, cleanliness, price ect.
