The Do (formerly Emily J salon)

I am a long-time client of The Do (formerly Emily J Salon) at Emory Point and absolutely love the team of talented, skilled, and exceptionally customer service oriented professionals. My stylist is Nadia and she has a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise in hair color, hair care and styling. Nadia genuinely listens to my hair color and style needs and delivers exactly what I asked for. The salon has a wonderful ambiance, is so clean and well appointed, and the reception staff are very attentive and caring. There is a great array of Aveda products to purchase, to keep your hair looking great between appointments at The Do. The salon will validate parking, which is aplenty at Emory Point. You can get a great salon experience, enjoy lunch at the General Muir or Sri Thai, and do some shopping all in one swoop (and with your hair beautifully styled). The Do has an excellent on-line booking tool; their fantastic website offers clear and straightforward pricing and makes it so easy to book appointments. I highly recommend The Do at Emory Point and any of the multi-talented stylists, but of course I am partial to Nadia. But really, the whole team is exceptional at their craft.

I have been going to this salon (The Do), formerly known as Emily J Aveda, for more than a year now. The service here has been consistently excellent and the staff always friendly, respectful, and courteous. My hair stylist Cyrus is not only talented, skilled, and knowledgeable about color and style, she is so very personable, sensitive to my particular hair needs, understanding, and empathic as a human being. It’s a pleasure to see her and work with her. Before this salon, I came from another Aveda salon in town, but I had not been getting great care there lately, kind of always being passed down to the newer stylists, so that my hair had been over-treated and over-highlighted in an attempt to fix it. Sometime it was treated with semi-permanent hair color (my choice), but sometimes mistakenly treated with permanent hair color. When I came to Cyrus, she slowly set about to correct the different parts and non-uniform shades of my hair. And in a couple of months, Cyrus got it to where I am totally satisfied with color and the extent of highlights. On top of it, she is very respectful and doesn’t force or provide extra services I don’t need at the time. One time I also had the pleasure of having my hair done by Paul, when Cyrus was out of town, and I came back totally satisfied with his service, pleasing personality, and skill set as well. I highly recommend this salon and the stylists here to anyone looking for excellent hair color, cut, and styling services.

I have been at this salon for a long time. Paul has done my highlights and haircuts and I couldn’t be happier. He is extremely knowledgeable and attentive. As I have gotten older my coloring needs have changed and I always leave pleased with what he has done! It’s always difficult to highlight for blondes and he is exceptional! They are under new management and it’s been great!

Paul is great! He does my hair and my daughters. She drives up from Florida because she only trusts him to do her long hair and color. For me Paul does my short hair and color beautifully. He is always open to changes and trying new things. Super happy with the results!

Nadia is the best in town! Absolutely amazing with curly hair! She knew exactly how to shape, style, and bring out the best in my curls. I finally found a stylist who understands curly textures —highly recommend if you want someone who is extremely knowledgeable about ALL hair textures/styles.
