My mother and I came in for the eyebrow mapping and waxing service the other day. The specialist seemed unwelcoming and dry. I showed several reference photos of my eyebrows in the desired shape from a few months prior. She began "mapping" with a popsicle stick and a marker/pencil, while I expected her to use a mapping string or pre-inked thread to do so. I also expected some sort of consultation to ensure I was happy with the outline of the eyebrows, but there was none. She didn’t even pass me a handheld mirror until after the service when my mother had asked her if she even had one. She began waxing immediately and took off so much hair between the center of my eyebrows that they looked a mile apart from each other. To put it simply, they look ugly. I was unaware of this at the time since she had yet to pass me the mirror. I also felt her get wax in my hair twice and expected her to clean it off immediately, but no. I felt her push the strands of wax-covered hair back with the rest of my hair. My mother paid $30 for me to home with two small bundles of hair covered in wax and hideous eyebrows, and $30 for herself to walk out with eyebrows that looked unkempt. This was an incredibly disappointing experience, my mother and I will not be coming here again. I am happy to discuss this situation over the phone if need be.

I’ve been coming to Lanisha since 2017 and I wouldn’t ever go anywhere else. Lanisha, Mark, and the whole staff are so professional and polite, I’ve had nothing but great experiences from day 1! Lanisha was my very first waxer and she put all my fears and insecurities at ease from my first appointment. For a while I would only see her, but every one of the waxers are kind, considerate, warm, and put you at ease through these very intimate services. As someone that gets serviced monthly, their membership plan has saved me hundreds and is so easy to understand and renew yearly. I see that some people complain about their late policy, but I’ve always contacted them and they’ve been very gracious as long as it’s been reasonable. I completely understand and respect this policy because of the nature of their close appointments and respecting other people’s time. I’m excited to have seen them grow their business from a single suite, to having their own studio. Looking forward to see what the future holds for Beauty Lab 🙂
