Sanctuary Salon

Thank you very much Adam for all your great work!! This was my second time at the salon for a blowout and it was amazing. The first time I went for a full highlight and a curly styling !! I will definitely come back for more services!!

I LOVE Sanctuary!!! I moved recently to New York and was very nervous about finding a new salon that could cut and work with curly hair well, and in particular long and thick curly hair. I was also looking for a spot that felt approachable and comfortable, not stuffy or too commercial/corporate, as it’s important to me to support small businesses and especially women-owned businesses. I came across Sanctuary and booked a curly hair cut with Maria, the salon owner, and was ecstatic with the results! Maria is such a lovely and bubbly person. She is incredibly talented and really knows her curly hair stuff as a curly hair person herself. She made me feel so comfortable the whole time and ensured that we talked through every step of the process. She even let me drop back into the salon a few days after the appointment to make some tiny tweaks to my hair because she wanted to make sure I was 100% happy with everything, which I was! The pricing at the Salon is also reasonable, so I really appreciated that aspect of the experience as well, especially when so many spots in NYC are astronomical and truly not affordable. Please please go support this incredible business! I will absolutely be going back to Sanctuary and getting my hair cut by Maria again 🙂

I love supporting this women owned business. I get great thorough service from before I get to my appointment to being warmly greeted at the door to leaving so pleased with whatever the stylists at sanctuary salon is doing to my hair! This time I came in to get bangs, and I love them! G knows how to cut curly/wavy hair just right and gave me great tips on how to style them here on out. I’ll keep coming here:)

Maria and Adam are amazing. I followed her from a previous salon and I'm so happy I did! Maria gives phenomenal curly cuts you feel great walking away with, and Adam's expertise in color & blowouts is crazy. Absolutely love this place and you can tell since I'm willing to take 2 trains over an hour from Queens to get there! My only regret is telling my ex about this place

All the hairstylist here are perfectionists and I love it! They make sure all clients leave exactly with the hairstyle they ask. First time here but definitely won’t be my last. Adam was my hair stylist and he gave me exactly what I envisioned.

I went into the service looking forward to a face framing trim. I had a consultation with G and she had asked if I wanted my bangs straight or blended into the length. I said blended and just shorten the center mainly. I trusted after further consulting, we were on the same page. Not quite. I left having straight & short bangs that weren’t even in length after washing my hair at home. It felt rushed and very transactional. I didn’t mind coming in later since she was running behind, but everything after the fact was disappointing… so I put a smile on and left. Hair grows, so I’m accepting of what I’ve got. But before leaving, I’d asked her to break change for me and she pocketed part of the cash before giving me back the rest so i could tip her myself. Not a good look as a professional.

I usually treat haircuts like annual check-ins with a doctor, but I felt so relaxed during the cut and good after I walked out than it was actually a great experience! Thank you to Adam for the amazing cut and styling!!
