I’m 18 years old and probably straighten my hair about three times in my life and have never dyed it. I did some research online for a salon, I could trust because I’m in college and don’t know the area. I went in and was greeted very nicely. My stylist was Jeffrey. He was very friendly and patient. He did a phenomenal job on my Hair. He made sure to ask questions and took his time. I recommend this salon, i have 4b type hair.
It saddens me to say that I had a terrible experience with Fiov. I know they have independent stylists, and I’ve had a good experience with one ( a braided) in the past. This time around I received a curly hair cut from Fiov, and unfortunately, it was an awful experience. I asked for long layers, and to trim the parts of my hair that were unhealthy. As I noticed that she was cutting incredibly long pieces of hair, I asked for her to stop and keep the layers long. She kept going, insisting that this is standard, and that when clients ask for layers, they are often shocked by the amount of hair take , and that the length in the back was still long. When I checked, YEARS worth of growth were removed. I do not recognize myself, and I hate my haircut. To top it off, I paid $69.00. I shouldn’t have tipped, and I should have immediately asked for a refund give that the stylist gave me the cut SHE wanted, and not what I asked for. I am disappointed, saddened, unhappy, and now will need to wait years to regain the beautiful long curly hair I once had. For folks who are considering this salon- ensure you meet with the right stylist who cares about what you want, and will listen to your feedback when you speak up. Update: the salon owner met with me and apologized for the situation. She was attentive and explained that this never has happened before. Although I cannot get my hair back, I appreciated them taking ownership of the situation and doing their best to amend it.
This the place to visit if you want to be completely satisfied with the results, from wash and set to haircut to color to extensions and make up. Everyone in this place is so welcoming and helpful!!! Yahi has been doing my hair for over 25 years and I travel to Brooklyn from sffk county on Long Island happy to know that I’ll love the results!!!
Jefry literally does it for me every single time! Anything I ask! Has great hospitality, service and is extremely patient with his clients!!! I love Yahi salon!! Tell them Helen sent you!!!
THEY WILL PUT CHEMICALS IN YOUR HAIR WITHOUT ASKING (I see others reviews sadly saying the same thing… wish I saw that before I went) I got a regular wash and blow out (I’ve been to this salon other location before with no issue) and my hair was damaged really badly, it smelled like chemicals and fell out in clumps following my service here. I have really healthy hair and have never experienced it falling out like that. I really contemplated posting this publicly but it’s not right that a salon could possibly be putting chemicals and extreme heat on hair that could cause damage like that. I have long hair and have had to cut several inches off due to the damage. Never experienced something like that before after all the blowouts I’ve gotten in my life. This may not be the case for everyone but just wanted to share my experience as it was deeply upsetting.
$67 for a a blow dry and leave in conditioner is crazy for my hair. My hair is on the finer side and barely mid back which is very easy to blow dry. They charge extra for using a a curling iron because the stylist didn’t know how to achieve the look I asked for with solely a blow dryer. Should I also mention they didn’t wash my hair I came with it washed and deep conditioned. All of that for a frizzy blow out. I normally pay $50 for a wash blow and deep conditioner in Bay Ridge and always get an amazing shiny frizz free blow out with body. Due to his technique the curls drop instantly. Normally when want a blowout they curl the hair at the ends with the brush and pin the hair up until they’re done. Not skilled in blow outs!
Fiov gave me an affordable wash and set plus trim and wrap . Very nice hospitality and environment definitely recommend
