Gillian Garcia Artistry

I made appointments in 2019 for 2021! I paid the small fee (maybe $5 or so, I don't remember) for the appointment slot. Now that 2021 is here, I cannot get a response from this salon, regarding my appointments. I understand that COVID has changed everything, but I either need my deposits back or need to be able to see when my appointments are scheduled for. I've tried emailing and calling, to no avail. I'd really like to keep my appointments. I would love to experience Gillian's magic, but this is crazy!

I actually got to speak to Gillian. Out the kindness of her heart, she took the time out of her day to tell me what to do to grow my hair back now that I'm in remission from cancer. Years ago I was her client & at that time Gillian sustained my hair even though I was on chemo. Her products are working well for me in just a short time I've been using them. My hair journey is to be continued ...

I will definitely be going back!!! I made some mistakes and I felt disappointed in myself and Gillian lifted my spirit for that day!!!!! The environment is very clean and the staff has these bright smiles its amazing!! Not to mention Gillian she has a vibrant energy and great personality 🥰🥰🥰

Great vibes, positive energy, friendly welcoming staff, comfortable atmosphere. Added Bonus, my hair was done by Anthony Claxton visiting from Trinidad. Never in a million yrs did I think I would have the opportunity. I LOVE MY HAIR!! He did an amazing job with those gifted hands and positive spirit. I will return to this salon for sure!!!

This was one of the most horrible, most unprofessional experiences I've ever had. I was so excited to meet the famous Instagram hairdresser Gillian Garcia. I traveled from NJ to get my hair done, which never happened. If I had a whole free day then I'm sure I could have waited. I had a 9am appointment and I left the salon after 1pm, again, with my hair still not done. If I didn't ask I wouldn't have found out why. Apperently, Gillian had purchased a house and was waiting for an electrician. When she finally walks into the salon with her gym bag, like if she's coming from the gym, it was well after 1pm. To make matters worse there was a woman waiting before me with an 8am appointment. We as color people should support black owned businesses, and I try, but this was too much. My advise to newly coming up businesses is to treat your customers with respect, especially when you make it big. Sincerely, Disappointed

I've ordered her 3-1 Moisturizer and the foam spray, both are great and leave my hair soft. I haven't experienced any buildup or residue, in fact I've found that the more I use her foam on a daily basis the better my hair looks and feels.

The salon NEVER answers the phone. I am assuming at this point they have no receptionist/assistant to maintain appts and shield phone calls. Their vm is always full so you cannot leave a message. They do not return emails. My aunt (disabled) wanted to make an appt and had been trying via every way possible. I went online to their website and couldn't book an appt either. She insisted we go there to book an appt or see if they accept a walk in. Since she cannot get to BK by herself, I obliged. We traveled all the way to Flatbush from Harlem, just to be met by an empty salon. There was one hairdresser doing braids on one client. When we arrived and explained the dilemma, requesting to make an appt, her response was "you have to make one online". I explained I went online and cannot book an appt via their website. Her next response was simply that the hairdresser was booked for the rest of the year, umepathetically, unapologetic, offering no solutions, no recommendations of other stylists, nothing. Rude, actually. For a salon that seems to be so popular on social media, something isn't adding up. If you guys are booked solid, why can't you afford an assistant? If you are booked solid and we came mid day, why was the salon empty? If you're not at the salon working, why can't anyone clear the vm system? If the stylist is completely booked, why isn't that stated on their social media and website? Why is there no option to book an appt online, yet we ere told, that's the only way? This is NOT how you run a business. My aunt was so deflated and disappointed, it hurt to see her face. Disrespectful. I would NEVER, EVER, EVER recommend anyone to go here. They are clearly disorganized, unprofessional, and at this point their "success" is quite unbelievable.
