Nice little art museum located on the Washburn campus. On the main floor we saw an exhibit of lithographs and photos. Up on the second floor, the paintings were some that had been restored and repaired, and they gave great explanations of how and why they do that. Downstairs, the creative studio geared towards children is amazing, and any age can make art at the stations for free. The museum grounds have sculptures all around, with many different styles represented.

The museum is truly very small. It’s in a single room, so this really wouldn’t be an all day outing activity. I think I spent about 15 minutes looking at the artwork, which was very tasteful. I’d recommend you to go there if you are on campus or a Washburn student. Admission is free! I did find it particularly interesting that the current work on display was restored and they shared some of the restoration process, the other side of the gallery was some poetry which I wasn’t as big of a fan of, but I go to art museums to look at pictures, not necessarily to read.

We have enjoyed visiting the art lab many times. Several stations for the kids & kid at heart to get creative. They host parties as well as open creative area with a station that changes regularly. Free parking & free admission. Located in the basement of the Mulvane Art Museum.

Very nice small museum on beautiful Washburn Univ. campus. We enjoyed both the traveling exhibit and the permanent collection. Plenty of seats to take a brief rest and see the artwork from a distance. Outdoor artwork was great too.

My children have always enjoyed going to the art lab and the downstairs area of the Mulvane Art Museum. One side is blocks and Legos and reading, while the large other side has various mediums of arts and crafts. Whether it’s nice and sunny and warm out, cold and rainy, or snowy, this is somewhere fun to take your children for FREE!

Free admission! Was pretty empty with school out of session, but lots of beautiful artwork.

This is such a fun place for the kids! My three love going to the art lab. There are so many different hands on art activities that are offered, and for free! They have a Lego area, places to draw self portraits, paint, color, use blocks, weave, draw like you are in a cave, and many more. It is run by the university, and work study students. We have been several times and every time has been a great experience.
