Elk Antler Inn

I was aggravated right away when I called to make a booking because I didn't understand the pet fees and I was prompted multiple times to just do it online by the person on the phone. I'm already calling so they should just book it like I asked instead of acting like It was a bother. The room quality/comfort: this is an unmanned hotel which is fine so the code is texted to your door. The problem is the door combo locks are residential grade designed for someone's house not for a hotel situation. You had to be very careful when you left or entered the room to shut and lock the door because it will not swing shut or lock on it's own. I got 2 queen beds and 1 was definitely not a queen and that bad was rock hard. The second bed was fine but just strange being sacked out on the edges but hard in the middle? The room was clean, decorated well and not that bad. It does need either no soap or different soap though because right now it's 3 in 1 body wash/shampoo/ conditioner. Ew! The TVs were small, far away and Roku. Again the TVs are not designed for a hotel. So no TV unless you log into a streaming services....they do not log you out of applications at check out! So when we went to use them a bunch of previous tenants were still logged in. Overall a nice enough place just several kinks that could be made better...

Place was freshly renovated and so modern! We did not have the chance to use the massage chairs or sauna but they were nice! Convenient, clean, & 5 stars! Hosts were quick to respond when we needed something & communication was great! Will stay again!

I enjoyed my stay at Elk Antler Inn overall. The property is cute, the bathroom has nice hot water, and my room was decorated with nice western elements. My boyfriend and I especially enjoyed the massage chairs in the new spa amenity room. We had a few critiques that would’ve made our stay even better. We found the linens and the bed to be pretty uncomfortable. The pillows were large and firm, and the mattress felt firm and cheap yet sagged in the middle, making for a very uncomfortable and restless nights sleep. Thank goodness they have massage chairs on site so I could get the kinks out of my neck caused by the mattress and pillows! I would give this place 5 stars if they upgraded the bedding and mattress, and also provided better soap in the showers. The only soap provided was a 3 in 1 shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. I think this place was good value overall, and I would stay again because there aren’t many better options in Thermopolis.

Really nice place. Rather than 2 beds in one big room it was 2 beds with 2 rooms. Nice to be able to be together but still be apart. We arrived late at night but didn’t need to check in when we arrived, we had a code that got us access into the room without any hassle. Great easy to find location and rate wasn’t bad for a double room with 3 occupants.

We booked this hotel well in advance after confirming the age requirement was 18+ on Google (as shown in their own listing). Unfortunately, it turns out the "fine print" said 21, which we only noticed later. When we called to see if they could work with us, they rejected our call and then called back from a different number. The woman who spoke to us was clearly from a call center, extremely rude, and claimed she would "call the owner" and get back to us. She never did. When we followed up, she told us we could not stay and that they would not refund us. She even made bizarre and threatening comments about "doing something to our credit card." We then reached out to the booking company, who also tried to contact the owner. The owner never answered them either, leaving us stuck without a room and no refund. This was by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Dishonest listing, rude communication, no accountability, and money essentially stolen from us. Do yourself a favor and avoid the Elk Antler In at all costs. Stay at the Hot Springs Hotel & Spa instead. UPDATE AFTER OWNERS RESPONSE: Thank you for replying, but I need to clarify a few things. Your Google listing showed the minimum age as 18, which is why I booked. The 21+ rule buried on Booking.com was not obvious — that’s misleading. I never made any "racially-charged" comments. That’s a false and serious accusation, and I don’t appreciate it being used to deflect from my concerns. You also never addressed the fact that your customer service representative was clearly not on-site and seemed to be working from a call center. She was rude, didn’t call me back as promised, and made the situation worse. The unclear comments made about my credit card came across as threatening, which is unprofessional. Most importantly, I was never contacted directly, even though I asked for that. Instead of resolving the issue with me, you only posted a public response. Overall, I paid in good faith based on the information shown when I booked, and I was denied service, refused a refund, and treated poorly. Your reply does not take responsibility and instead deflects my review.

We loved this motel. The room is nice and you can see the design in every detail, the paintings, materials, furniture, everything looks cool. The room is super clean and organized. The service was great. I loved the bed, it is super comfortable. I definitely recommend it, and we will be back.

Oh my goodness this place was so cute! Someone has come in and remodeled and decorated this old motel into something adorable. The online check in was smooth and simple; the beds were comfortable, and the rooms had everything you needed. We loved it!
