Had a great time at the concert we went to. This place is in a great location and usually not as busy as downtown Detroit. We stayed at a hotel less than 5 miles away and got a Uber back and forth no problem. The amplitheare is set up great with basically two sides of bathrooms and vending. Makes a nice flow. We are excited for our next concert here!
Great place to see a concert. We attended a Sold out show for Teddy Swims in 2025. Great atmosphere, bathrooms were clean. Facility overall was great to navigate through. Seating under the pavilion, are amazing. Not a bad seat under there. The parking on a rainy day can get messy. So be prepared with dirty shoes. Other than that. Great place!
What a wonderful small outdoor venue, I have loved in Michigan my whole life and never knew this Jem existed. The seats were very comfortable for being folding chairs, they were a bit tight to each other but we stood up and danced for most of the show. The bathrooms were very clean and plentiful, the concessions were all great also!! What a great show Melissa Etheridge opened for the Indigo Girls!!
Getting into the event was good and I like the size of the venue. People should be aware that it is an outside event, although, a roof covers most of it. Our concert last night was drizzly and 52 degrees, so be prepared for the weather. There was a major problem, though, from my perspective, that it took about 40 minutes to get out of the parking lot, which seems like a long time given the relatively small venue. There was zero coordination in the parking lot and it was a free for all. Overall, I would recommend Freedom Hill
Great staff & parking situation! Not a bad seat at this venue, and the lawn seats are honestly very good if you show up a little earlier and sit right in the front!! Food offered by the venue is also delicious. 🙂 Been to three concerts here, and I would go back in a heartbeat!
Good place to see a show. Smaller outdoor venue. Grass area for general admission is much smaller then Pine Knob
I had VIP passes for Teddy Swims at the Amphitheater. It was my first time to this venue and I was alittle nervous if my small bag was going to be allowed in. It is just slightly over their 4x6 rule. But I was solo on this trip and needed to carry my keys and a couple necessities. Going through security was no issue with it. The VIP process took a lot longer than I have ever had before tho. First you checked in and got your badge, then you waited to get through security’s scan, after that they checked your ticket, then sent you to another line to check the ticket again and give you a wristband. It took about 20 minutes in all, not terrible. The free parking is great! But, when you are VIP they park you with GA, which is on the opposite side of your entrance and it’s quite a walk. Doesn’t make sense since the VIP entrance is right in front of another parking lot. Would be much better to have VIP ticket holders park there instead. * I do want to shout out one of the security guards, no idea what his name was. But he handled a situation of 2 drunk women who were causing chaos and it was about to turn into a fight. Thankfully he got involved and told them they had to leave. He followed up and found them in the pit, and made sure they were escorted. He then came back over to our area to inform us that they were no longer a problem. Great Job! Last thing is, after the show got out….The parking fields were madness!! They drop all these cars down into 2 lanes to get out of the lots and it got backed up immediately. Thankfully a guy finally let me in, and I was able to get out of there. But it took me almost an hour and there was still SO MANY vehicles behind waiting in the field.
