Cheapo Records has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 based on over 731 reviews on Google
Such a cool store! They have an absolutely gigantic selection of CDs, vinyls, and cassettes, and I could’ve been there for hours and still not have seen everything
It’s huge collection, knowledgable staff, and immaculate in-store vibes made the shopping experience at Cheapo well worth an impromptu stop. Hope to be back again soon.
Pretty extensive collection of CDs, DVDs, Blu Rays and vinyl records. This store is huge! Their sorting was a little different for me - having classic rock and modern rock in two different sections, but maybe that's just me. Also, maybe it's to prevent theft, but all the CDs are locked in old school plastic anti theft devices - it kind of felt like an artifact from the 90s. I looked around for a while and didn't find anything I really wanted, which is always a disappointment for me. I don't like leaving record stores empty handed.
Very large collection of vinyl, DVD, Blu-ray, and CDs. Vinyl lumped into pop/rock, R&B, and country but you can find what you want pretty easily. The sale bins are only markdowns from record store day items, but that’s more than I’ve seen from other places in my travels who leave those at full price forever. While I didn’t find any spectacular rare finds, there was an absolute ton of vinyl.
One of the greatest music and pop culture stores I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. I’m a fan of cassettes, which are usually found in-person as incredibly pricey and/or damaged. Cheapo’s features a wall full of well-organized, affordable cassettes in great shape! There’s even 50 cent replacement cases! I paid much less for the same amount I’d previously bought at stores like Mr. Zero’s in Roseville. I recommend it to anybody looking for a good second-hand music store.
HUGE record store! The CD, vinyl, and poster options, along with vinyl cleaning supplies is extensive. The environment of the store is fine - harsh overhead lighting, but the laid back vibe of the store makes up for it. The wide variety of music offered at Cheapos means there’s something for everyone, and I mean everyone. Genres include hip hop, r&b, rap, pop, electronica, classic rock, etc. However, I wish there was a section for country vinyls.
Gave maybe ~10% market value on my records I brought to them. Bring any used records you want to sell to Agharta records. Better owner, better prices, and just a much nicer place. Cheapo also does not have cheap records. They over price them substantially. Awful experience, will never give them my business again. Edit to add - their employees are useless and act like you’re an awful human being for asking them a question. Please don’t waste your money here.
