Books-A-Million

I wish I could give it a zero but it does not allow for that. I stopped in this store on 11/16/25 around 2:30 pm looking for a book to purchase but unfortunately all staff were too busy chatting to each other even after I went to the group waiting for them to acknowledge me twice. I will make sure others our aware that stopping here is a waste of time. Support your local book stores and leave the chain stores to inner discussions that are more important than serving their customers. The Janesville Mall is not going to survive with businesses like "BAM"!

Worst customer service. I bought 1 of about 20 items that were in a box labeled $8.99. They rang up at $16.99. No honor of the price. No kindness. Just rudeness from the manager. Ha, the only 1 of a few stores left in that mall and they'll be out of business with that hospitality.

Walked in & the front display had had an inappropriate book for children in the middle. I flipped the book over while my children were browsing. I also mentioned this to the cashiers at check out. I was kind & considerate, first asking who picked the displays. I didn’t request or demand they change it, just suggested they consider they types of individuals they pull in. Their response was to flip the book back over while we were still in the store. I posted the whole display image and didn’t focus in on the middle one. For a book store who pulls mostly kids and teens along with the fact that they intentionally flipped the book back over while my young children were browsing, I don’t expect to go back in there with my littles.

Ordered a book for pick up and not only was it super easy to navigate but the staff were super friendly as well. Dan gave excellent customer service!

Amazing customer service! Patient, friendly and helpful. Huge selection of books, magazines, collectibles, and games. We went in there to get my son a book and left with a membership and 7 books. They are helping the community to get elementary children books. Well worth a visit.

Great selection of books, good prices and deals. Friendly staff. Good place to get kid stuff and adult alike. Will go back for sure.

The staff is rarely overly helpful or friendly, but as the last big book store in the area, sometimes it's nice to be able to go and wander and pick something up in person, without having to order it. They are never busy at all, so you certainly don't need to ever worry about a crowd being around.
