Hot Topic

Drove from Emmett to visit this store, excited to use the sales to get some band merch. But the store is closed. They have papers near the store explaining that they have temporary hours, but everyone, including me, did not see these papers until minutes after we all thought they were going to be open, 11am. Their temporary hours are 12pm opening time, so keep that in mind if you have a commute.

What a great location. We visited on 5/16/24 and I would say this is absolutely the best visit if you're looking for pop culture merch, especially anime. This is a standard all Hot Topics should aim for. The store was clean and very well kept along with kind and courteous staff. Tiffany was so awesome, she helped me find this One Piece piece paper theater that I've been looking for a long time and I was very stoked to be able to find it. She happened to notice another One Piece item I was buying and suggested it. I wish I happened to get the other associates name that was working there at ~2 because they were great and checked the stock room for us twice with a smile. If you find yourself in the Boise mall, make sure you check it out!

My daughter loves dragging me to this store. So far we haven't been able to walk out of the store empty handed. They have a fun selection of just about everything.

A horrible experience visiting this store, really disappointed, all the items are scattered all over the store and it's impossible to find what you're looking for, most of the shirts are only plus size! Also, I don't recommend it since there are a lot of people and it's impossible to search for something, really a horrible place that I think there are many better options.

I was so excited to find a Dungeons and Dragons coffee mug, and Heather was kind enough to explain it needed to be hand washed without me even asking. She is such sweet person; she possibly saved the life of my wonderful new mug 😆

Love this store! Wish one were in the village!

It makes me so sad to have to write this review because Hot Topic used to be my favourite store. Despite common belief I love rock music and Hot Topic used to have such good band tshirts, and an abundance of them! I think that half the store must have dedicated to them. But…those were the old days. Hot Topic did in fact always have some emo, kind of really weird cosplay things that I just am not into, but I walked past it to get to the back of the store and weave through them again around the middle of the store to get to where the band tshirts were… But after not having been to the mall in a little over a year, I went back in, excited for the band tshirts. And the section had been reduced to most of the back wall and a small section on the side. Disappointed, I looked to try to find a shirt that I liked, at least, but I was dismayed to find none. Maybe next time they’ll have a better selection I thought. And as I walked out it sunk in what hot topic was becoming as I looked at the new shirts that had replaced what once was in the middle section. Cringe. It’s all made for people on the bad side of tik tok and instagram reels who are just strange. I prayed that Hot Topic would change again by the next time I came. A few months later when I came back, the bands tshirts were reduced to the small section on the side that I mentioned. How disappointing. And even more cringe/emo/cosplay things had filled the store. This isn’t Hot Topic anymore… in fact none of what is filling the store is even a hot topic, they’re all weird. All of my friends who like rock music and came to hot topic to get shirts agree with me on all these things. No one is happy with the store anymore. As for the cleanliness of the store, I can’t tell because it’s so filled with things that I can barely walk around anymore, and as for the staff friendliness I also have no clue because there’s been nothing worth my purchase for years.
