Comic Envy

Had a stopover in Asheville and decided to check out a local comic shop. I happened to bring a dozen of my comics from the 60s for possible sale. I arrived and spoke with the owner briefly, then left my books for her to check out while I browsed the store. I must say I was amazed at how well the store was laid out. Plenty of room to browse the different areas and sections. All areas clearly marked and arranged by themes. Most comic stores tend to be crammed into tight spaces and claustrophobic but this store was a pleasure to go through Nice selection of back issues and current issues, figurines, posters, graphic novels, games, and much more. And very reasonable prices too. Highly recommend if you’re in the Asheville area, check it out! Oh, the very knowledgeable owner and I came to a fair deal for a dozen of my books!

Excellent selection in terms of books available, but you can bet this shop will squeeze every possible penny they can out of a book. Of course this is their right as an independent business, but we are talking $2.12 cents for a book that in my opinion belongs in the dollar bins. That specific. They're all alphabetized which is very helpful if you are looking for a specific book, but lots of dollar bin material in priced as boxes. Very few dollar boxes. A very small table by the front window where light comes in. The woman working the counter was perfectly nice to me when I checked out but over the time I was there I heard a few rather abrasive and rude interactions with other customers. The shop's aesthetic is nice and it is very easy to navigate, but overall seems to prioritize aesthetic over customer service.

Excellent modern store with a wide variety of new comics, back issues, graphic novels, manga, supplies, and related nerdy stuff. They have excellent taste in what they stock and a wider variety of graphic novels than I've seen in larger stores (including artbooks and indie works). Neatly arranged so it isn't difficult to browse. The store uses its space well and I can't wait to go back. If you can't find something you like there, I question your taste 😉

We have been visiting this store and the owner is superb. We cant recommend this place enough. She treats you the same if you are spending nothing or hundreds of dollars. The prices are always fair or better than market price and they have an amazing selection of toys and comics.cant recommend enough.

Absolutely love visiting this shop whenever I can. They have a ton of new releases regularly, and their sets are top tier, in my opinion. Plus, they have a ton of cool stuff, like Super7 drinking glasses, Dissent Pins, etc. Very inclusive, amazing variety, and great pricing!

One of the coolest shops I've ever visited. The book selection is top notch. The owner is very cool and crazy knowledgeable. This shop is a must visit for any comic lover in the area!

Had a nice time shopping here. They have comics everywhere, and when we asked the gentlemen behind the counter to help look for specific issues, he'd bee line directly to where it was at. Friendly staff, and a wide range of comics, toys, and accessories.
