Great shop, well organized and clean with tons to explore. The front is mostly new and current issues with some books, manga, and collectibles. The back has a broader range of comics, TPBs, books, etc. There's a large case with cool patches, stickers, dice, and some DnD I think. I was ready to walk out with over a dozen books then noticed the staircase to the basement. Below is a large area mostly dedicated to board games with an impressive array of game types and expansions. There are a lot of RPG books and more figurines down in the basement. All the way back are more comics in bargain bins if you like to dig. There are a few bins labeled for more in demand titles. I think every one of the 3-6 staff members in the building said hi or asked to help. At checkout they mentioned comic subscription service that comes with a built in discount I'll definitely take advantage of. I'll definitely be back and will find it difficult to top this as the go-to spot for comics in the area. Photos are of the basement.

i always get a giggle out of the staff comments. Plus all of the workers are super sweet and helpful ! Also, means a lot to me as a person who gets a period that they have a cup with free tampons at the counter. Its a small thing but it makes a huge impact on how I view this place 🙂 ♡

I was a buying a bunch of copies of a comic that had been on the shelf for weeks. I was so excited to get multiple issues of my favorite comic that were just collecting dust on their shelves. I start to check out and happily discuss how sweet it is to find these and buy them. Both cashiers were fine with everything until I mentioned my daughter and my happiness to make this purchase, at that time the cashier that wasn't even helping me leaves a long line of customers to get permission to deny my purchase. She smiles glowingly as she takes my purchase away from me. There was no reason for her to do this. There was 60+ books left for others to buy and none were sold in the last 3 weeks. I asked for the manager and as he backed her up on not selling me the books, she smirked at me. I let that nasty little woman, Kira, know what type of behavior that was and then I left. She didn't mention any rule for minutes until I talked about how happy this purchase was going to make me. She loved ruining my day as her face clearly reflected. The owner of the store actually had the audacity to call me and gaslight me about the entire situation and then ask me not to come back. The short, stout, pierced, died hair woman and the dark skinned manager are bigoted to my skin type and sexual preference. They choose to treat me that way because of their own prejudice and beliefs. Unbelievable that the owner called and told me Kira didn't behave as she did. Gaslighting a customer.... This is the new Ann Arbor mentality at it's finest. Don't forget they have awful parking. Pay on the street or walk a mile. Their subscription box usually has wrong comics that you are expected to purchase while missing the ones you asked for. The staff wouldn't help find comics downstairs and didn't even know where to look for the exact comic asked for. Too many uneducated and unmotivated staff. Real collectors will have a challenge shopping here. This shop is mostly for tourists or people that don't have access to other comic shops. Go online or check out comic city locations and stadium comics for far better prices and staff. The owner continues to gaslight in his nasty reply to this, read below. Never once did he try to help the situation out, he is just trying to make me into the bad guy and gaslight me and the readers.

A friend was stopping by the store to pick up some games on his way to our game night—and unfortunately, he was about to buy a game we’d already purchased for his birthday. We called Carlos, and he went full covert-ops mode: he quietly pulled the copy off the shelf and told our friend it was out of stock while staying on the phone with us. Absolute LEGEND. Carlos went above and beyond, and because of that, I’ll definitely be increasing how much I spend at this store.

Beyond awesome comic and game shop. Upstairs is full of a crazy amount of books and collectors toys. The basement has tons of vintage comics and a major selection of games. If you are into either of those and you find yourself in Ann Arbor, definitely stop in.
