I was reluctant to try this place due to the not-so-great reviews, but I gave it a go. -Ambiance (4/5): It's a Korean PoCha. The interia deco is moden and clean -Service (3/5): I guess it can get real hectic after 9pm. There is a bell on the table, but not sure if this thing works well. I didn't get an immediate response -Food: Some are really great - Tonkatsu Toowoomba Pasta (5/5), Nagasaki Jjamppong w/ Crispy Rice (4/5), Honey Butter Sweet Potato Chips (3/5) Summary: It's a decent Korean PoCha, and I will definitely come back to try different dishes

Jujung. This place is amazing. Firstly, it's open every day of the week until 2 AM which makes it a reliable option for when it's late at night. When you get there late, generally you don't have to wait for a table at all, in my experience. Secondly, the food is absolutely delicious. They are Korean restaurant but offer traditional Japanese items as well like okonomiyaki and hamburg steak. The food is gourmet and delicious and while a bit expensive ($20-$30 per plate), the portion sizes are large and worth more than what you pay for in my opinion. As well, at night the atmosphere is very cozy. The booths are separated by curtains that resemble vines which do a good job at giving you privacy. The warm, dim lighting (yellow animated icicle lights and table lamps) are very nice. I always feel very relaxed and have a good time here. Can't recommend this place enough.

Food 4/5 Service 4.5/5 Ambiance 4.25/5 Stumbled upon a new spot in Pal Park and was pleasantly surprised by how nice and intimate the ambiance felt. Not sure why it has so many negative Yelp reviews, the food was actually pretty decent overall. The name Izakaya feels a bit misleading. When I think izakaya, I expect skewers and small plates, but this place felt more like a pocha. That said, the interior was cozy, spacious, and comfortable. Tonkatsu Toowoomba Pasta (4/5): Creamy and satisfying, nothing mind-blowing, but solid and comforting. It does lean heavy, but I liked that there was extra protein beyond the katsu, with shrimp and bacon added in. Sake-Braised Clam Pasta (2.5/5): The sake flavor completely overpowered the dish. I didn’t realize I disliked sake-braised seafood until trying this, definitely not for me. Scallion Chicken Pancake (4/5): Really tasty, though it didn’t feel much like a pancake, more like fried, battered chicken. The ponzu style sauce paired well flavor wise, but since it’s poured on, it made the dish very soggy. Would definitely recommend having the sauce on the side.

Awesome daytime and late night spot! We got here around 9:30pm and it was packed, we waited about 15-20 minutes but it was worth the wait. Food is delicious and portion sizes are generous! Drinks are also all great. We ordered the beef shabu, spicy chicken stew and the clam pasta and the amount of chicken and beef you get is impressive

A vast and unique selection of food, unlike most other bars/restaurants in the area. The pasta, tofu, and the chicken dishes were delicious and the price is great. The music isn’t blasting in your ear like other places. The ambiance is perfect for a date or night out with friends. Thumbs up!

I want to start by stating that I went here once, did not get any special drinks, and did not get signature items so I don't want to be unfair and give it a lower score. Atmosphere and service was nice. A bit busy and a bit chaotic but that's not bad as it was full of life and bustling. The food was kind of a mixed bag. The fried tofu kimichi was a bit too much for me as it was too greasy due to being fried and having bacon. I believe they had an option for regular tofu, if so I would have picked that. Even with some drinks unfortunately it felt that the tofu absorbed too much grease. The takoyaki was surprisingly good. The shape was small so I assumed it wasn't going to be another middle of the road takoyaki. But again it was good with fairly good sized chuncks of octopus and a good amount of katsuobushi. Alot of places skimpout on takoyaki but I was really happy to bite into a nicely filled takoyaki. Finally I got the karaage sampler platter. I believe it was the oysters that were my least favorite as it had this really mushy texture that wasn't my personal style. But everything else was really good. I loved the crispness of the shrimp tempura, the flavor of the octopus, and the other pieces were just nice. The white sauce was also great making it feel not as heavy and cutting some of the greasyness. I would say tho it needs to be eaten rather fast as it kinda got soggy after it was cooling down. But would highly recommend. Overall I had a rather good time. I also felt that the food was a little pricy but overall decent value. Next time I plan to try the signatures foods and some other drinks and hope they live up to this level of expectation. Edit: At this point I have dined at Jujung a few more times and feel my initial assessment is the one I'm sticking with. The food can be good depending on what you get and the drinks are nice. It's a cool place to hang out and grab some light food with some drinks.

Tucked away but unforgettable. The vibe hits you first—low lighting, warm wood, plants draped like they’ve been there for years. It’s got that moody intimacy most spots try to fake but rarely pull off. Felt like my kind of place the moment I sat down. Food was solid. Went with the spicy pork belly udon—flavor hit, texture hit, balance was right. Fried octopus? Crispy, clean, not overdone. Jjamppong had real depth too— broth that didn’t need to scream to make a point. Service was chill, not overly talkative, which I appreciate. Let me enjoy the night without hovering. Music and energy were in the background—low hum, not trying to impress anyone. Just how I like it. This is a sort of place where you bring people who get it. Or you roll solo and let the room meet you where you’re at. Either way, I’ll be back.
