This hotel has nice finishes in the room. Plenty of space in the rooms. Everything was clean. Friendly associates. I slept very well on the first night. The bed was comfortable and the pillows are soft. However, not the hotels fault there were some rather obnoxious people on the second floor just outside my door that kept yelling and disturbing surrounding residents and smoking weed in the room. This went on until past 4am. I called the front desk a couple of times to report it and ended up asking them to call the police because they continued to be rowdy. I would stay here again. Just cross my fingers there won't be another disturbance like that.

This was one of the best experiences we have had with a hotel. It is a pet friendly hotel?Beautiful room separated with a sofa bed, tv , lots of dressers, work station beautiful kitchen with everything you need.Bathroom supplied with everything. The rooms are very clean.The breakfast that they serve daily is wonderful.Better than a restaurant and they offer a lot and change updaily. You won't be disappointed booking your next trip here.

We stayed at Home2 Suites Des Moines at Drake University in June 2025 for freshman orientation. I was blown away at how clean, spacious and helpful the amazing staff was. As someone who is extremely chemical sensitive, it was wonderful to walk into a room and not have chemical smells, perfume or odors. Hotels that choose to use scents in their cleaning products and in their hotel have stopped me from traveling. This was such a relief to not have any of that and be able to focus on our son and his college orientation. The kitchen was fully equipped as well. I travel with my own food and it's awesome to have a full-size refrigerator to store my food and not some tiny dorm fridge. Sink, microwave, dishes etc. all available for use. Andrea at the front desk was wonderful from greeting, check in and answering all of our questions. She was welcoming, kind, professional and such a pleasure to speak with. She is truly a treasure to have as an employee. We had a fantastic 2 day stay and will be returning for many more stays.

My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights while visiting family. It was our first time here as we usually stay at the Residence Inn in downtown.||We stayed in a one bedroom suite which consists of two separate rooms plus bathroom. The hotel also offers studio suites which are cheaper and are similar to a junior suite.||The suite was excellent. It seemed new and was in great condition. It had a kitchenette, a large bathroom and a tv in each room. WiFi worked well. The suite was much nicer than the ones at the Residence Inn.||Housekeeping did a great job of cleaning rooms but they only clean on alternate days which I think is very cheesy. They were off schedule with our room as they cleaned it on back-to-back days and then skipped us for two days.||Breakfast is included in the room and is fairly average for this type of hotel. Food quality was generally good except for the soupy oatmeal which was inedible. The warming bin for the hot food was annoying - tough to access the food. E.g. it was impossible to get tater tots without spilling them.||They have a fairly nice fitness center. It has 4 cardio machines, dumbbells and a Peloton bike that you can use if you agree to receive promotional emails from Peloton. There are some washers and dryers next to the fitness center and you can get detergent from the front desk.||Front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful.||We mostly drank bottled water during our stay as we had been told to avoid tap water due to a local issue with nitrates. If you need bottled water, don’t buy at the hotel. Prices are significantly lower at grocery and drug stores.||Overall, I liked the place and would probably stay here again.

Situated across from Drake University, this very pleasant hotel has a nice pool, very good breakfasts, a well trained staff, and very good upkeep. The photos provided here by the the hotel are an accurate representation. There are a few quirks - the bathroom doors are sliding doors with no handle, so getting them out from the space in the wall can be a chore (see photo). In addition, the sink faucets are very stylish, but so small and set back from the basin that is it impossible to wash one's hands without getting water all over the surrounding area (see photo). Still these are minor, and I would go back.

Nice, clean hotel, great stay after a loooong day of driving across the country. Staff was very helpful, room was modern and clean, exactly what we needed. Just a few blocks from a supermarket and some places to get food. The breakfast was just ok.

Spare sheets for the pullout bed were dirty in a drawer. Front desk got us clean sheets right way! Otherwise, room was good, kids enjoyed the pool, and breakfast was good.
