H Mart Manhattan

Buyers beware! Pre-packaged meat weights were inaccurate, resulting in substantial overcharging. I purchased pre-packaged short ribs at the H Mart on 3rd Avenue for $18.99/lb. The label said the package weighed 1.88 lb. When I opened it at home, I noticed a large empty area under the sticker, which seemed odd, so I weighed it myself. I used a King Arthur Essential Digital Scale (accurate to 0.1 oz / 1 g, commonly used for baking). The package weighed 1.15 lb total, including the container. I called the store and then walked 15 minutes back with my scale. The manager weighed the package on their store scale and said it was over 1.9 lb, which directly conflicted with my scale. This suggests the store scale is significantly miscalibrated, resulting in all customers being overcharged. By my math, roughly over $31 per pound (!!!!) in this case. While the store manager was polite, and genuinely tried to help, this raises a bigger concern about pre-weighed, price-by-the-pound items. The issue itself is serious.

The store is eh has a nice variety of things. Kind of small compared to other locations. Cashiers dont bag your items beyond frustrating and rude if possible go to the queens location or Westchester. Queens location is huge unbelievable customer service and they bag your items. If we have to bag our own items they should have self check out. Reply to owner I gave my bag to the cashier and he did not pack my bag he scanned and placed the items on counter ignoring the bag completely. Indian guy. With that behavior I'd rather do self check out.

Worst experience ever don’t come here ! They racial profiling ever black person . I walked into a store for 2 mins and was being held by my well. They tried to hold me for cotton swabs mind you they was in my hand the whole time .they didn’t want to call the cops cause they was wrong . I felt so embarrassed cause they assuming . I will never be back to this location horrible. I will like a manager to reach out cause I was being touched and horrible for anybody in neighbor . They aren’t nice don’t go .

A very clean, beautiful, organized Korean market. But the prices are crazy. Worth going, there is a lot of variety of products. Plus, they sell my favorite fried chicken 🤤😍 bb.q Korean Fried Chicken 👌

Came here for the first time & had to come back a second time . Love love love !! From store upkeep & cleanliness to a variety of snacks, fruits and foods galore down to the employees/cashiers working in such a fast paced , well equipped positive manner . Seriously tho the cashiers are very polite & positive and emit a very welcoming and warm ambience in the market . I used to go to the hmart down in 34th but I think this will be the new go-to. Definitely check out their beers/alcohol section, you’ll find gold !🍻The store may seem a little small but the variety of produce and foods and etc make up for it by a lot . This store will not disappoint, so much so that I had to come back the next day ..and I’ll do it again 🤍! Take my word.

the Korean supermarket is stocked with a lot of different Asian food goods. the actual space is fairly small for a supermarket BUT it doesn’t feel like that bc the store is really well organized and has so many items shelved neatly. beyond behind really clean and well-maintained, the store consistently stocks items and brands and rarely is "out" of anything no matter the time of day or night. there is also a fair amount of Asian-centric kitchen ware close to checkout. the store has a good energy vibe and the employees are pleasant and helpful. ‘Sides H Mart always has Japanese KitKats in stock which is a plus in my book for any grocery spot.

This is actually ridiculous. How is a bottle of fish sauce $16.99…. They’re normally only 5.99-6.99 per bottle. Absolutely ridiculous.
