I had the worst medical service of my life at Gainesville Dermatology. I went in to start Accutane and Dr. Ashley Miller was my doctor. She rushed through my appointment and left the room as fast as possible. I later saw her socializing with staff, which made the rushed visit feel careless and dismissive. From the start, the Accutane process was unclear. I clearly said I wanted everything explained step by step. Instead of explaining, Dr. Miller said the assistant should have told me. The instructions were confusing and inconsistent. Because of poor communication, my treatment started a full month later than planned. Every single month, I had to call for up to five days in a row after my appointment just to get my medication. I often went days without pills because the prescription was delayed. Calls went unanswered, voicemails were ignored, or staff rushed me off the phone without explaining what was happening or why my medication was delayed. I never received clear answers. This office shows a lack of organization, accountability, and patient care. Accutane requires strict timing and clear communication. This practice failed at both. I would strongly warn anyone considering treatment here to go somewhere else.

I had an absolutely terrible first visit and will never go back. This was my first time seeing a dermatologist and I did not know what to expect. When the practitioner arrived I explained that this was my first visit and they simply ignored the comment. They did not talk me through the experience or tell me what to expect. The practitioner (a female) was accompanied by an assistant (also a female) and a male intern who was "training to use the iPad". I became visibly upset and felt overwhelmed at the number of people in the small room and the fact that there was a male there. I felt paralyzed and started to tear up - which made the provider comment on the skin on my face. You would think that the provider might take a step back to check in with me and see what was going on, nope. She rushed through and couldn't get out of the room fast enough. I refused all recommended treatment and left sobbing. Their in-office procedures and patient communication need a ton of work. This was a completely unsatisfactory experience. After waiting 6 weeks for an appointment, I now need to find another medical professional.

I have to give a huge thanks and appreciation to Gainesville Dermatology and their team. I am a doctor and have had to jump through multiple hurdles even knowing the system to get my son to a specialist in Gainesville. Most specialist don’t answer their phones , have 2-3 month wait times, which definitely hurts patient care. My son was seen by primary with little relief and was not making progress for the many months. He stopped into Gainesville Dermatology and they were able to get him in early the following morning. I must say, hes finally relieved, he has an answer, now able to sleep without disturbance, and can focus and have a quality of life after 1 visit. Thank you for all you do. I went for an appointment day before I was supposed to by mistake. It was my fault and when the mistake came to light they were more than happy to work me in anyway. Dr Ashley Miller made time for me in her already busy schedule and for that I was very grateful and thankful. It saved me from having to drive back the next day. Dr. Miller is very professional and treated me like a family member. Thank you Dr Ashley Miller!!!

Shady practices around cosmetic pricing. I called at the beginning of Dec for pricing on a procedure and they insisted I had to come in to discuss. Booked the appt 2 weeks out. I received price $X. I said "ok, I'll book the appt." Response: " well, thats a special for December and we are all booked. Pricing for next year is #X+$100" I said ok, let's book the next 3 appointments. I show up to my 1st appointment in Jan 2026 and they were like "we will honor the $X+$100 for the 1st appointment but the subsequent will now be $X+$300. "

I took my child here an appointment. The doctor walked in and took a look at my daughter and said they can't help her. The appointment took almost 2 minutes before it was over. The doctor didn't have a moment to talk to us. We were referred to another doctor, this office said they would set an appointment for us. Its been weeks and no referral was done and I had call back a few times to find out why or who is this other doctor. This appointment cost $150 dollars, I'm going to file an official complaint. We feel discriminated against.

What a fantastic place. Great, friendly, professional and easy. Adele and Doctor Canova took the time to explain step by step what she was doing. Highly recommend them.
