Yami Sushi & Teriyaki

OMG! talk about the playlist first green flag!! Service was amazing, our server was so outgoing and was quick to take our order and serve it. But the other thing is how yummy the food was. From the sushi to their teriyaki and ramen. So flavorful and cooked to perfection! Their portions are also worth the price, like come on! Can’t forget their bingsu, we got the mango flavor. Man did it melt in your mouth, plus the mango was sweet too! Will definitely be coming again😌🙌

I think this is one of the most underrated sushi places in town. I drove 30 minutes for this spot. Portions are large for the cost. Everything is delicious and the flavors are complex. Service is always great. A great value when so many other places are just meh. T

My experience at Yami Sushi & Teriyaki was incredibly frustrating and uncomfortable. I waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for a single order. Every time I went back to check on it, I was told "10 more minutes" or "15 more minutes." This happened repeatedly, and there was no honesty or clear communication about the actual wait time. The staff were extremely unfriendly and showed no sense of urgency. There was no apology and no effort to make up for the excessive delay. While waiting, I also heard strange and concerning noises coming from the kitchen area, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. What made this experience even worse was that one of the employees took a photo of me while I was leaving and getting into my car. There was absolutely no reason for this, and it made me feel uncomfortable and harassed. Customers should not feel like they are being photographed without consent. Overall, this was one of the most unprofessional and disturbing restaurant experiences I’ve had. I would not recommend this place to anyone who values their time, basic customer service, and personal respect...

I can say this is one of my best sushi spots on the east side of Portland and Gresham. If you are a sushi fan, you have to give this place a try. The sushi rice is done right. Some place it is either too sweet or too vinegary. There is a decent selection of sake and Japanese beers to pair along with your meal. The shave ice with fruits dessert is refreshing and light. Both of the strawberry and mango didn't disappoint. This place can get really busy and full really quick during meal time.

This is one of my favorite places now! The sushi is great, slightly expensive, but they're MASSIVE. They're a bit of a struggle to eat due to their size, but they're still made well, not falling apart when you pick them up. The service is also very good; the waitresses were both very pleasant, quickly seated us, and were very attentive during the meal. We also didn't have to wait long for our food. Store is very nicely decorated and is clean. Love sitting down and looking at all the decorations around the area. The only thing I didn't like was the calamari. It doesn't look like real squid, there were no tentacles (the best part), and weren't fully covered in the batter, but still pretty good.

I m visited for the first time several months ago and my life has never been the same. My fiancée and I each got 2 rolls not knowing that the portions were huge. It is hands-down the best sushi I’ve had in the US. Their lobster sushi roll calls to me like the Green Goblin mask. UberEats hates to see me open the app because I’m ordering Yami, again. 1000/10.

A nice very clean place. Friendly attentive staff. The food is good, above average. It came out very fast so it must have been made ahead of time except for the sushi. The sushi platter was made when ordered. I've had fresher sushi. The rolls were better than the sushi. The best roll was the Crunch. The Ramen was delicious and hearty; the hard boiled egg was surprisingly good. The Chicken Teriyaki was nothing special.
