As someone who suffers from severe dental phobia this is not the Dr. that you want to do any extractions and/or implants. A few years ago, yes, he had a great bedside manner and was professional and made you feel comfortable. The last two experiences I had with him were abrupt, downright rude and in the case of my extensive dental surgery, completely incompetent. He did not finish the surgery even though all money was paid out of pocket and in full up front.
It goes without saying that we frequent the EXPERTS or whom we PERCEIVE as EXPERTS when we have a problem that we are trying to sort. We go to Auto mechanics with a car issue, tap into our Town Hall when our trash isn’t picked up on a regular basis, seek legal advice from competent attorneys and hopefully, get our dental implants placed by EXPERTS with extreme knowledge of the entire surgical procedure from top to bottom---that includes testing the patient for candidacy for the procedure, explaining clearly and with a soothing bedside manner the possible outcomes and the possible risks associated with this type of surgery, and consistently following up after treatment to make sure the surgical progression is in a straight forward positive "dental direction" ---Dr Manaf Saker , DMD of Ridgewood Oral Surgery; Ridgewood, NJ, is such an EXPERT! How do I know? Because I recently had six implants placed by Dr Saker and as oral surgery goes; it was a fairly wonderful experience. The procedure involved bone grafting, sinus lifts, tooth extractions and all in all fairly quick and with minimal pain and discomfort! He did a GREAT job! Not only is Dr Saker polite, professional, and thorough; he also takes the time to answer all questions that you may have in complete and COMPREHENSIVE detail. I can see he is a person of integrity, and I feel that he is genuinely grateful to have the patients and staff that he has in his corner. And speaking of his staff, they are all top-notch professionals, and all seem happy and satisfied to come to work each day! I am singling out Kelly, the Manager, and Niko in administration only because I had most of my experience with them but the whole office is dynamite-- all are deliberate, quick to respond, and conscientious! I highly recommend Ridgewood Oral Surgery to anyone. Thank you.
Dr Saker and his staff are amazing. Went in for emergency extraction they squeezed me in and had to stay late. Made me feel very calm and well looked after. I was very worried going in but he made it painless! I would highly recommend
I had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Saker. The staff was very professional and friendly throughout my whole experience with his office. Dr. Saker well informed me of what to expect and answered all of my questions thoroughly and with care. His knowledge of the field made me feel very much at ease about my wisdom tooth removal. He really is the best in the area. I cannot thank you enough Dr. Saker and staff!
I wish I could give 10 stars. Dr. Saker and his staff (kelly) are absolutely astounding. They truly embody what professionalism is. I had an incredibly unbearable tooth pain but the silverlining out of that is I met Dr. Saker and his staff. I can't praise them enough about their high quality service.
I would like to add an addendum to this review. Dr Saker just left me a voicemail clarifying that he is NOT retiring and is continuing to see and treat patients. He requested I make a correction to the "misinformation" in my review. I did stipulate that the information I heard (from another dental professional) could not be verified, so I would like to stress that I have always considered Dr Saker an excellent oral surgeon who always went above and beyond for his patients. However my last experience left me so shaken that I was at a loss to explain the change and so the information, from what I considered to be a reliable source made sense, if for no other reason than I have seen it happen frequently with other colleagues , as I work in the health care profession. It is not my intention to dissuade people from seeking Dr Saker as their oral surgeon, because with the exception of my last implant, his work has always been stellar, so I will chalk it up to a one off and say everyone can have an off day. Dr Saker had always been my go to oral surgeon. I referred so many patients to him over the last 10 years, because of his competence and reassuring personality. I never felt rushed by him or his staff and he did excellent work on the three dental implants I had done. So why only two stars? The last time I went to see him was 2 years ago for a tooth extraction and bone graft which would eventually lead to a 4th implant. From the moment he came in the room to do the extraction and implant I could tell something was off about him. He was rushed and impersonal. Also he made me very anxious telling my my x-rays looked horrendous and in all likelihood I would eventually end up loosing all my teeth. I asked if I should see a peridontist. He just shrugged and said I should talk to my dentist and abruptly left the room. By the time I got home I was in a lot of pain, something that I never experience with him before, and the gums around the extraction tooth were inflamed and would bleed easily. When there was worsening of the symptoms after 3 days I called his office and the receptionist told me to see my own dentist for the swelling and bleeding around the adjacent teeth. I felt so unwell, that I ended up going right to a peridontist who said my teeth were a train wreck and I should have been seeing a peridontist long ago. They ended up treating me and doing the implant and my teeth and gums have never been better. Subsequently I found out that Dr Saker had sold his practice and was just working for the next 4 years as part of the sales negotiations. Not sure if that is accurate, but there was a distinctive change in his office and work ethic. So sad and disappointed to hear this as I always considered him one of the best.
My son recently underwent minor dental extractions at Ridgewood Oral surgery and implant center. He was very anxious and nervous. The staff made him feel comfortable and at ease , even asking him his favorite artist and played the music of his choice during the procedure . Dr Saker exceeded my expectations with his experience and professionalism . He has excellent bedside manners . His front and back office staff is also commendable , highly professional at all times. I would not look elsewhere for excellent patient care.
