When needing legal advice on a Landlord/Tenant issue; where Buncombe County Permits & Zoning had shut down utilities on the rented property, because it was commercially zoned, "Justin" was egregious and questioned me as if I was a squatter. Felt like an interview from a detective rather than an attorney that wanted to protect my interests. When I brought up the fact that the property was also in disrepair and infested with mold, they recommended reaching out to a personal injury lawyer. I have never felt so disrespected when seeking legal advice.

I had qualified for representation and was assigned a lawyer for an eviction. I had enough evidence to win my case, but my lawyer decided to not show during court. Then on top of it my previous lawyer with the same firm spoke to the opposing party saying I can't afford rent. This is an update. I was forced to call them again and they again refused to represent me. All they did was waste my time. Now that I got upset the threatened me with legal actions. "We need to be clear that you should not contact Pisgah Legal Services again. If you continue to contact Pisgah Legal Services after this message, we may explore legal options to prevent further contact. We wish you the best going forward." -Pisgah Legal The literally threatened someone with a mental health condition with legal actions. Due to their own neglect. I'm in a home with no wastewater treatment. I have to poop in a bucket. Yet they still refused to do anything to help me other than just call me. All they provide is info you can find through Google. Last time they refused to help me my car was set on fire by the landlord. This time my landlord has broken into my van, stolen, peeped into my window, took pictures of me inside my home, took everything off my porch and burned it all in front of me. Slashed all 4 of my tires and spray painted my windshield. Yet they did nothing to help me at all. They will have you sign a retainer which isn't even a retainer. It's a waver saying they will probably not represent you. I have worked with many lawyers in my life. This is the only one who made a threat to me. Just because they refuse to do their jobs.

I'm very sorry to say after over a year waiting for disability ,I haven't talked to my lawyer personally but twice and the last time was in January. I've asked several times for a update or any kind of idea if or when I may receive assistance but no call. I give updates on Dr appointment and other appointments and have been homless with no income and still nothing in over a year. Clearly this astonishment doesn't care about the disabled or trying to help them survive. It should be a crime as far as I'm concerned to leave someone desperately trying to survive with not even hope. I wish it had been a different experience but it wasn't.

Really not helpful to people like me. Not old enough but I guess they can’t help everyone. I need legal guardianship of my autistic 17 year old. I’m sure I can do it myself.

Horrible horrible experience over the phone. I felt completely discredited and like all they cared about was what things looked like on paper. They didn't care about the person, just the logistics. They would not listen to me and my story of what was going on and I was disregarded the ENTIRE phone conversation. This place does not seem like they have any interest in truly helping women and children. It was always a place I recommended. Never again. If you need help please go elsewhere!!! The person I spoke to on the phone, Patricia, left me in tears and was so rude and condescending to me. Anyway, never again will I recommend any woman going to pisgah legal.

I could not be happier with them. Frank, I think, is his name. I have memory issues. He's really big, dude. Should've played football for sure. Anyway, I won't get into many details, but he helped me out of a situation that honestly I thought I was screwed. I'm disabled and he was very understanding and accommodating. He told me exactly what to do. I'm actually calling him today to ask about something. I plan to volunteer there until I at least feel I have paid them back as I now have multiple attorneys with them. I can just say I couldn't be happier with the service I received from everyone there. If you are looking for a place to make a donation, this is it. I may be disabled but I will be a productive member of society again. I promise you that. If so, I'll make sure pisgah Legal has all the funding they need for the demand of clients. This is where to donate to as it's our community, and without legal representation, you can easily get railroaded over by people or a judge even if you did everything you could to make it right.
