Yak Academy

Yak Academy is the BEST and I MEAN IT!!! My Son begs to attend school seven days a week. He has thrived not only personally but academically while attending YAK . The staff is caring, loving and nurturing ,all of the ingredients needed for our little humans to THRIVE. My son is currently participating in the trilingual program Spanish, French & Mandarin. My family has noticed such a difference in his confidence, speech and mannerisms while attending YAK. If you’re looking for an immersion program please do not think about any other program 🙂

I can't say enough about how phenomenal Yak Academy has been for my children. When Hermosa Beach decided on half day kinder we turned to Blanca and her staff and they have been amazing in regards to my daughter's language education and meeting my daughter's emotional needs. Kinder is a rough transition in regards to the rigid structure and the work load. My daughter has experienced at Yak Academy that learning can also be fun. As for my younger daughter, she feels safe and comfortable with the staff...and loves the teaching style and the other children.

Yak Academy is an incredible school run by a woman named Blanca and supported by excellent and caring teachers.  Both my kids have had classes with Mrs Maria and Karina whom we also love. I have had two children in their program over the last 5 years taking Spanish.  My daughter is also now learning French...she wanted to spend more time there. Most importantly, as parents, safety is always our number one priority.  I could not feel safer to leave our young ones in the care of Blanca and her team...they are like family to us now.  Seriously, could not trust anyone more. From an education standpoint, both our kids by the age of 3 spoke more Spanish than I ever would have expected and are now bilingual.  The kids have FUN and they are learning new languages while singing, dancing and doing art projects.  We also love that the kids get to experience families from many different cultural backgrounds. Yak has accommodated birthday parties for us and they go all out for holiday decorations and fun celebrations! If you are a parent looking to provide your kids with a safe environment, where they can play, challenge their brains, and interact with other kids, then Yak Academy is really a great choice.

Yak Academy is a premier language school in the South Bay, and believe 100 percent in their Immersion approach through active play. As an educator and bilingual advocate, I am thankful for this school. My daughter, who is now a 1st grader at a Dual language program, was able to test in as a native Spanish Speaker thanks to the amazing and nurturing teachers at Yak Academy. I am proud to say that the foundations of language that she was effectively taught, had allowed for her to read above grade level in both Spanish and English, and she is now taking on French as her 3rd language — also at Yak Academy. They are a small school who focus on providing the most nurturing and engaging environment for each child. They truly model differentiation, and teach with the students’ strengths, abilities, and interests as a focus. When you walk into the center, you are greeted with warm smiles; and leave with the comfort knowing that your child is safe and cared for. Best of all— all teachers are native speakers from all over the world! My family loves Yak Academy, and cannot wait to embark on a new language learning journey with our son who will be joining their Transitional 2s preschool program this summer!

My son has been attending Yak Academy for the past two years. He has a great foundation of the Spanish language. They do a great job teaching vocabulary through games and songs. They offer wonderful camps. Yak staff is kind and knowledgeable! We couldn't be happier!

My son started Yak Academy's enrichment classes about a year ago. Through the use of toys, songs, arts and crafts, my child continues to learn new vocabulary every week. He has plenty of fun while absorbing new words and concepts in a welcoming and warm environment.

Excellent environment to expose your child to languages. The teachers are knowledgeable, entertaining and know how to engage toddlers to learn a new language. My daughter has been going since 20 months and looks forward to class each week!
