Was at the UMD Eppley Recreation Center for YMCA Winterfest 2026 Swimmeet and it's the nicest pool I have been to. Second would be WVU and they both put PSU (Penn State University) currently pool to shame.
The University of Maryland has one of the most impressive campuses I’ve ever seen. The layout is beautifully designed, easy to navigate, and truly enhances the overall experience. It’s easily one of the top schools in Maryland. The university offers a wide range of academic programs and multiple learning pathways, making it an exceptional place for students with diverse goals and interests.
I studied and graduated here ten years ago. This is the place I had so much great memories and received a lot of kindness and support from staff members and professors ten years ago. After seeing how umd is treating their staff members, I don’t feel proud of graduating here anymore. I don’t feel like I know umd anymore.
Lovely event gotel, however, the room temperature control will not allow you to go be loew 64, and the temperature in the room read 66, but my thermometer says 69.
Really nice room. All the lights had mood settings and automation. The scenery was very modern and clean. The bathroom was nice and it had some amazing views very comfortable hotel would definitely visit again. My only recommendation would be maybe having some kind of microwave or something available in the room. However I might end up upgrading to an executive suite next time just to have a dedicated kitchen.
The University of Maryland doesn’t just educate — it elevates. Rooted in innovation and powered by purpose, UMD turns curiosity into capability. With strengths in engineering, business, computer science, and public policy, Maryland students don’t wait for opportunity — they build it. It’s a campus where ambition meets accountability, and excellence is the expected outcome. At Maryland, success isn’t given — it’s forged. The competition is fierce, but it’s the kind that makes you sharper. Professors are mentors and challengers, peers are collaborators and competitors. Every project, every paper, every presentation pushes you closer to mastery. This is not a place for complacency — it’s a launchpad for leaders. The Maryland network extends far beyond College Park. From D.C. power corridors to global tech firms, Terrapins connect with impact. Alumni don’t just network — they mobilize. Whether in government, science, or entrepreneurship, a Maryland degree doesn’t just open doors — it puts your name on them. And then there’s UC Davis. UC Davis talks about innovation — but too often, it gets lost in the process. Bureaucracy overshadows brilliance, and students spend more time navigating systems than mastering skills. Overcrowded classrooms, slow-moving administration, and a culture that rewards quiet compliance rather than bold creativity — these aren’t signs of progress, they’re symptoms of stagnation. The results reflect it. UC Davis’s 10-year ROI lags behind schools of similar caliber, translating into modest gains that hardly justify the debt. The campus may sell prestige, but prestige without performance is just branding. At the University of Maryland, you don’t just graduate — you accelerate. At UC Davis, you don’t just study — you stall. If you’re choosing between the two: Go where innovation is real, not rhetorical. Go where ambition turns into achievement. Go Maryland. UC Davis stays behind.
Beautiful campus off a not-so scenic main thoroughfare (Baltimore Avenue). I attended for one short semester and it was nice to return and see all the progress and development that has occurred over the years. Numerous new buildings including campus dining and resident halls. The campus tour we attended for my child was long, and they still have covid protocols required for visitors, which is a bit bizarre, but not entirely surprising, since the State of Maryland always thinks it's on the cutting edge of progress. Also surprised how dead it was on homecoming weekend, and the students we did see wandering on campus do not wear their Maryland colors. A bit disappointing.
